Read all the posts and am amazed that it remained a civilized discussion so thanks guys for actively participating and giving some very sensible views both for and against.
Someone mentioned something about an article. Let me clarify that the post was made in the context of fans and their outpourings not media and the article. Media will often publish what is sensational, what makes it sell, what people want o read and sometimes to settle scores. I am a media person so I know how exactly this works esp in the entertainment business, which is why I can tell you that it not always the production house that is at fault. Do they sometimes play dirty, of course they do. They have a lot riding on the shoulders of the actors they pick, so when things come unstuck, yeah, they can play dirty.
But it's not as if actors are innocent babes in the woods. In fact, very
often with increasing popularity, they start throwing their weight around, land up late at sets etc. Does it ever strike you why these problems only ever emerge after a serial is extremely popular, has been running for a while and a couple of cast members achieve iconic status with fans?
Problems always seem to arise with the really popular star. If the actor remained exactly as he or she was since inception, why would the producer suddenly chuck them out when the actor and their serial have achieved great popularity? It's suicidal and no one is destructive suicidal when it involves huge sums of money, least of all the guy whose business/source of income is to make these serials.
If you're ready to be difficult, you shouldn't be surprised to get an even stronger reaction from the other side. This applies to both actors and the production houses. An actor, who has been difficult, and, is a trouble maker will find himself isolated after a time, if this happens repeatedly, and over time, a unprofessional production houses will be shunned by better and popular actors.
But this is a "you scratch mine and I'll scratch yr back" business. When they need each other, they will kiss and make up, and the viewers will be happy believing they actually were the ones to make it happen, lol!.
As for people disliking CVs cos they don't do what the viewers ask for, in my experience when they do start listening to every single thing that is put out, that's a recipe for disaster. In both DMG and MJHT, a huge nos of posts I saw on the forums were requests for more lovey dovey scenes, consummation and some more love scenes.. so what do you ended with ? soppy, mushy, nonsensical hashes which finally even the people who asked for it cannot watch..
In my opinion, a serial should not extend more than a 5-6 months or if it does, it should have season breaks like they do in the West. Allows the creative team to refresh and continues to keep alive the interest in the show!
