Dreams Differ From Reality

A very thin line perhaps seperates an idealist from a realist, a dreamer from an achiever and an optimist from a pessismist - that thin line perhaps is sometimes just a dream.

What we get is the bitter reality in life – what we want is always a beautiful dream... sometimes we realize it sometimes we dont.. at times we live under the illusion of it.

May be today was just about that .. may be not.. perhaps i may be wrong.. or right . i dunno

An idealist, a dreamer or an optimist can always say i can or i may do it... an achiever will say i will do it .. a pessimist says this just cant happen ... a realist is perhaps a mixture of all these.

At a crossroads of life today 1 new character neil oberoi has brought forth some interesting events in the lives of our 2 beloved couples – SaJan and MayUr.

In SaJan' life – he may perhaps serve as a part of a triangle .. may be forming in the story with his affections for Gunjan .. which are so visible, yet which perhaps may also be leading him on a very wrong road, on a very different direction on a perhaps .. unfruitful journey.

He has came here perhaps looking for his envisioned – dream – an image of a girl – he knew for a long time perhaps – a girl whom he saw as a teenager in the town of morena once – a girl who is a woman now – having stepped ahead in life ... on a journey where she met the man who changed her forever yet let her be the same – a girl who is so still there ... but not as the Gunjan neil once knew – but metamorphed into Chashmish... as she has now become with the presence of Samrat and his love in her life.

Neil is perhaps chasing a mirage here tring to look in Gunjan . the girl of his dreams .. or his script .. as perhaps more suited here .. but is she really Gunjan?

The answer perhaps is no – for the girl whose talent is as real as her genuine caring nature ... perhaps was never meant to be what he is looking for .. agreed in auditions she was incredible.. she moved him to bits.. but was that because there is an actress underneath her trying to set free ?? or was it so because in the moment she was lost to the world perhaps .. living her worst nightmare in a fictional setting .. telling the guy of her dreams .. what it would mean to her .. to lose him ?

The answer to me is still unexplainable... for i never saw Gunjan ever wanting to be in the spotlight .. she was the happy background worker.. who felt at home as if she belonged there , but perhaps as every person in this world the urge for recognition ... is within her too .. perhaps she also wished to be found in a crowd .. like Sam said to her.

The question is ... whom does she wish should find her ? ... complete strangers .. who may think or feel they know her or someone who could feel her in a heartbeat .. and in 1 look , 1 glance .. without any questions asked looking at her eyes could look in to her soul?

Samrat in this particular track will be in confusions perhaps... facing a dilemma - watching the reality of his dreams ... turn into his worst nightmare may be.

Last night's precap which may be a scene tomorrow where he feels his chashmish is going away from him.. having lived alone all his life , he turned wary of relationships , had trust issues in allowing someone to get too close to him but she so managed to get thru to him... breaking away his defenses without even him knowing about it

What a colossal hurricane of emotions he'd face is only something time will tell – will he lose himself on the way perhaps struggling with a past he hasnt so gotten over even yet.. the pain of which is something that still reflects in his eyes or would he emerge like a phoenix.. rising from his own ashes .. perhaps with a renewed faith and vigour in his life to realize... the ghosts of his past.. his worst dreams may be far away .. and so different from a beautiful reality he was about to perhaps give up .. never ever having even realized what he'd be losing in the process perhaps

lovely topic ahaana...its so good...i really have no words,and thats why im not gonna reserve my comments.......i loved the way you talked about the thin line of diffrence betwwen dreams and reality....quite similar to that between love and obsession....and yes neil came as that hurricane in the lifes of the four leads......but he made them jerk out of the dream land that they were and look at the harsh reality that they have to live in....good job!...you should start writing books and stuff seriously!

Gunjan - an idealist and yet a realist ... she lives by her ideals, yet is realistic enough to know that her relationship with Samrat will need a name at some point. An achiever for sure - whatever she has taken up, she has achieved and well, be it her academic achievements, her singing in the TP, the RJ hunt, the play where she stayed in the background for the music, but danced and spoke on stage as the narrator as well ... A bit of a pessimist - her first reaction to something new, something outside her comfort zone is - no, I can't do it. Yet when she makes up her mind, takes up the challenge, she does always achieve what she aims for. Until now ...

Samrat - a dreamer, the eternal optimist - he's not shown to have many dreams in life, he doesn't dream of making money, of success, of fame ... his dreams are centered in the present, in basketball, bikes ... and now, Gunjan, and only Gunjan. The harshest blow life dealt him was his lack of family ... plenty of everything else, all material things, never made up for that one overpowering lack in his life, until Gunjan came along, and now all his dreams are centered around her. But the eternal dreamer and optimist that he is, he refuses to look to the future, to look ahead ... Gunjan is with him now, and that's all he cares about. Until now ...


What role will Neil play in their story? Neil appears to be a fascinating combination of a dreamer and a realist ... an achiever who has transformed his dreams into reality ... or made a start, by achieving material success, fame and popularity very young. From being one of the crowd in Morena, as lost in the crowd as Gunjan was, he's broken free, and moved head and shoulders above the rest. And now he wants to fufil another dream, achieve another goal ... Gunjan.
But he has changed from the lost-in-the-crowd dreamer, maybe he was as much an idealist as Gunjan once, but he definitely isn't now - he's a hard-headed realist, who knows that ideals and sentiment don't count for much in the real world. He wants Gunjan - but does he want her to change to what he has become, because he believes that it's the only way to success? Or does he just want her to succeed, because she is the only one who encouraged him to succeed?

Will he succeed in changing Gunjan? Will he manage to change Samrat?
Till yesterday, watching Gunjan so obviously uncomfortable in this new role, I almost wanted her to give up, to walk out, to tell Neil she can't do this, she can't change herself for anyone else ... be it her sister, Samrat or Neil ...

but today, I wonder ... if she walks out, what will change? Neither she nor Samrat ... not that comfortable and unreal limbo that they are living in, fooling themselves that their love is everything for today and forever ... the limbo that Mayur seemed to have been in too, till they too had that wake-up call...
So no ... Gunjan and Samrat both have to change ... to change their dreams, to focus on reality, to face the fact that life is ever-changing, circumstances are ever-changing ... the only thing which is constant is change itself ... and if they want their togetherness to be constant, then other changes will have to occur ...

And Neil will be the catalyst in this change ... and will undergo some changing dreams himself ... as he sees the ideal of the girl he has carried in his heart change shape into another dream, one which this time is out of his reach.
