i wish this serial wud also portray a special friendship btw guy and girl..and nothing more...that wud be intersting..and also suitable for a college serial...i mean....ALWAYS about love....nothing at all against it...but it wud have been great too!

Lol I get your confusion. You wonder if SG are trying to help each other because of their loyalty and strong friendship or because of the innate romantic love that exists between them? See, thats the problem, coz, the way the creatives are portraying this, they're really just completely focusing on the idea of SG being best-friends, than SG being lovers. I mean, last time I saw a passionate SG scene was that dance scene in Ahista-Ahista, and that was a dream-scene. A little more of that, a little more of the frustration Gunjan is facing with regards to her one and only true love, having a romantic relationship with another person. A little more uncomfortable tension between Samrat-Gunjan because of this love-ka-angle between them would've have really gone a long way and spoke volumes about them as a couple. I mean, all the above wouldn't negate the best-friendship factor, but would show that there was something more between SG... Instead of showing the 'pure' friendship aspect between SG, the creatives should've shown SG as best-friends who have TONS of potential for being a couple.

@ Sonia - Word! Somewhere, somehow SG's overly platonic friendship got in the way of love. That's exactly why Samrat's long, drawn-out realization doesn't excite me at all. I saw absolutely no hint of romantic chemistry between them after the V-day episodes.

@ Anu - Aww that's okay, I totally understand. It was nice of you to respond in the first place. Good luck on your exam! :-)

@ Kavya - Yep, I know what you mean ... it sucks when the creatives change a character's personality at their convenience once the character falls in love. I'm sort of glad though, that they changed Gunjan before she fell in love. She became more confident after the talent parade and that radio hunt or whatever it was. Like you said, some level of awkwardness between SG would be realistic after they get together but I hope the writers don't overdo it.

Kavya - I know ... don't even get me started on her crying. Khushi ka mauka ho ya gham ka, she has to shed a few tears. She better cut down on that after she and Samrat hook up. *shakes head*

Sarah, I always knew you were a bigger SG fangirl :P LOL....this post just proves it.....

Now regarding the topic in question.....generally speaking, the show is down the drain.....the problem with SG is that their storyline has been dragged beyond belief and as you mentioned, the 'friendship' bit wayyyyyy overdone.....so whatever little pull was there in the beginning is also not left anymore....Gunjan has become too mahaan and self-sacrificing meena kumari types and Samrat....LOL....I better not get started on him.....that masha allah 'confused' expression on his face....permanent hi hogaya hai ab toh.

Baaki obviously all the fans will hang on to see how the final realization/confession turns out to be.....but given all this dragging etc, the creatives are watering down any effect it could possibly have as well eventually.

YES! You said it.. SG are more like a brother-sister couple now and I agree with the fact that MoNaya are downplaying their chemistry completly.

They might get Old SG before they get to the confession stage or it will be just too much blah..

I hope after this jail track or even in between of it, we get the flirty Samrat and shy yet bubbly Gunjan back.

Someone should PM this to PD.
