I am going to be taking a stand on an issue that is really starting to bother me and I just feel the need to share my views with you guys. I started watching MJHT for the same reasons as anyone else. The cast looked good...and it piqued my interest. Ever since I started, I do not regret my decision. I enjoy the show, the characters and the story in general which is a refreshing break from everything else on TV. Then I discovered this forum and was even happy to find so many people who feel so strongly about this show. I was happy, I enjoyed reading everyons posts, iew poins, comments, VMs, fanfics, one shots, reactions to new promos...it was all so much fun to be a part of...even if I was silent all through it. (Hehe. You sum up the sentiments regarding MJHT during its initial months quite well. However, I myself was not fortunate enough to take part in discussions regarding the show as I happened to discover the show only during this year in the month of February. I viewed a couple of episodes which seemed to interest me, thus I went back to view the initial episodes. To be frank, the starting episodes startled me a lot more. 😛)
I was extremely happy when the scoops from PD started. I could not believe that someone from the show, an actual creative was taking the time out to interact with us fans. How many other shows have that? Not only that, she was willing to take our suggestions and ideas and incorporate it into the show. Imagine my surprise when things that were discussed on the forum actually started happening on the show! Mayank's ugly shirts were gone, RV's over dressing was done away with, Mayank and Samrat's conversations became better...all little things but important none the less. (You know what, I tend to believe that PD is indeed fortunate enough to communicate with fans who take out their time to suggest their bright ideas. On the other hand, I congratulate PD for caring about her show to a point where she felt the need to take suggestions from the fellow fans themselves. In the end, it's a win - win situation for both sides.)
So my question is...Why are the creatives being crticized on this forum? After they have done so much for is, why is it that we mjht fans as a whole are insulting their vision? I admit that there are a lot of things that could be better and a lot of suggestions and ideas that haven't been incorporated but, does it always have to be about what we want? I am sure that there is a budget, there are limitations as to what the channel does and does not allow and more importantly there are time and space constraints. Not everything is possible all the time. (Huh? PD is being thrashed by the fans? Um. As far as I know, IF on a general basis is harsh with its rules and if ANY bashers/thrashers happened to exisit around, they would have gotten their WL's raised or perhaps even banned. I need clarification at this point. What is your view on constructive criticism? If some creature on IF does not state, 'OMG PD MA LUVVSS. I LOWE THE MUSH ND ROMANCE. U DA BEST,' and rather gives insightful ideas regarding costumes, overtly acting, and maggots mixed with puke sort of dialogues, then is there any harm?)
More importantly, this show was conceived by the creatives. It is their baby. It was their vision and ideas that bought it to us in the first place. I am sure that this being their show, they have specific ideas and visions as to what they want the show to be like. Sure, it is different from what we want but at the end of the day is it not their right to take a show forward the way they want to? I understand that we as an audience should have a say, after all they are catering to us but everyone has to realize that it is not humanly possible to make hundreds of people happy at the same time! (YO you are forgetting one vital fact. The audience were the ones who declared the show hit - hit. 😃 Itna toh haq ab banta hai ki jab cheez sahi nahi ho rahi, toh usko sahi karwaaye. We will not recieve any reward or cheques if we suggest a better track or scene rather than a ripped off scene that is making the show go down the drain. At the end of the day, if the show enhances, then the creatives and actors benefit in return. Plus, if their 'vision' had not distracted initially, then the audience may never had given out their suggestions. It's a cycle- Something wrong happens; the intellects provide feedback; the dimwits fix it. 😃)
I have read posts where the creatives are being insulted for weak story lines or bad characterization and I find that extremely appalling. What gives anyone else the right to insult someone else's vision or intelligence or decision making process? Imagine yourself in the place of the creatives and think how you would feel if someone crticized you to that extent? If something that you did for a living and worked hard for was criticized...how would you feel? If you dislike the show that much then maybe you should stop watching it but crtiticizing it...is not done. (LOL why take away our right and tell us to stop watching a show? In the end, if we cease to provide feedback and the showmakers keep on providing us maggots mixed with cheese sort of episodes, then it won't be long before the show is pulled off air. In the showbiz area, everything comes with a price, you see.)
I am not saying that people should not express their opinions. This is an open forum and everyone has a right to say what they want to but I think that the language and words used could be better. (LOL, this invalidates your whole argument stated above. 😲)
I felt compelled to make this post after reading PD's scoops for the day...she does not feel that this is a fun place to be anymore. She feels that it has become an us vs them war zone...and I think I agree with her. I am dissapointed that members of this forum have managed to make someone who has given us so much feel this way. If PD wanted, she could stop visiting this forum and stop interacting with us but she still does....despite all the negativeness and I really love her for that. I think we owe it to her to make this forum the place it once used to be...full of positive vibes and great energy. Don't you guys agree? (She is here because she knows she is benefitted by US. Who would want to leave an opportunity of this sort? This is like heaven. A creative is bombarded with intellectual ideas! Why would she leave it?! 😆)
I know this post got boring a long time ago since its so long....but I guess being silent for so long does have its side effects ;)
