@ Vmars - Thank you for your comments. I did want to know a different point of view and thanks for that. That being said, I do want to clear up a few misconceptions. I never said that people should not express their true opinions and neither did I say that things need to be sugar coated. I am mature enough to understand that not every body works that way and that is fine.

My main point is in regards to comments being made about the creatives which I still maintain is sometimes not healthy. I don't have an issue with people not liking the show, or not liking a story line or a scene or a character...its a TV show and everyone is going to have their own likes and dislikes. Like I said, not everyone is going to be happy ALL the time. However, I do not think that anyone has the right to make insulting comments about someone else's work without knowing every angle or aspect of the amount/quality/quantity of the work they do. A creative cannot just improve a show over night and even if they want to there are a lot of factors that go into the creative process... not the views of us fans alone. I admit, like PD, that the story has deviated a couple of times but there could be a lot of reasons for that. Do we as fans honestly know ALL the factors that were responsible for that deviation? Sometimes in life, things don't always go as planned!

I also would like to clear up the fact about always posting positive comments and making it seem like we love the show. Once again, that was not in my original post and not my intention either. You are right about giving the creatives our honest feedback....which includes both praise and criticism. However, there is a difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism.

For eg. If I did not like the rain scene, constructive criticism would be...'I did not like the Mayur rain scene. It was too short and I did not feel it took the story forward in any way. I wold have preferred if they talked all the way home and bonded over how silly their fights were'
Destructive criticism on the other hand...would be something like 'The Mayur rain scene sucked! The creatives don't know how to write a scene. The creatives should thank Arjun and Rati for saving them in this scene. Don't they know how to write dialogues!' Etc etc
(The above is just an example and not pointing fingers to anyone in this forum)

I hope you get what I mean.

Coming to your last point, I am a passionate fan too...just because I haven't been active or make several posts about how much I love/hate something does not mean that I don't care for the show. Personally for me, the fact that PD comes into this forum and interacts with fans, means a lot to me. She does not have to do this and she certainly does not owe it to us to come and interact with us. She makes the effort because she enjoyed the interaction. I still do feel that we owe it to her to make this place funner but I don't think she owe's it to us to 'make the show better' since everyone's variation of the word 'better' has different meanings (e.g. Sajan fans think having Sheena out is better and Mayur fans think having more emotional bonding is better) Although that is a whole different debate all together.

My intention with the post was not to correct people's language or to tell them to sugar coat their comments or even not post their views. I am mature enough to understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and will do what they want regardless of what I say. I wanted to understand people's thinking. I did also want to bring a different view point in support of the creatives because I personally felt bad after reading that PD was upset with things in the forum. As a fan, I don't like to see a creative and someone who is working to make me happy, upset because of something that can be controlled. That's just my point of view :)

An interesting post, mjhtrb20.

Just to address the above point....I can understand what you are trying to say about constructive/deconstructive criticism....but I believe it is an honest opinion when some MN fans feel that Arjun-Rati were the only saving grace in a lot of their scenes....Creatives have actually written dialogues for them like, 'woh koi barf ka tukda tha'??😕😕😕....the kind of dialogues given to Mayank in the confession scene were BEYOND cringe-worthy...enough to kill most of the scene if not for the very last bit which in my personal opinion was only saved cuz of Arjun-Rati's acting....and I do believe the very reason they excelled was cuz there were no cheesy dialogues to handicap them for a change.

Ditto in the rain scene....most of it was just simple, sweet gestures....and that's why it worked....in recent times, the creatives have gone way overboard with putting in OTT situations, dialogues etc. etc....

So I personally don't see anything wrong when this is pointed out.....Feedback works two ways...if PD is coming to this forum, it is not only out of some magnanimous sentiment in order to dole out scoops to fans...she wants feedback as well....and feedback will have various aspects to it...can't be expected to be only one dimensional.....

I honestly don't see the reason to start sending apology letters etc. to PD over this stuff. Any person who is in this business, I would expect should be able to handle criticism....Karan Johar is a huge movie director and yet he is also criticized a lot many times.....does that mean that apology letters should be sent to him as well??

Just my two cents....no offence intended to anyone.

Heey.. I totally agree with u! ur so right, PD is so helpful and nice, and people her shouldn't make her feel that it's a groupizam here, like Mayur vs. Sajan.. it shouldn't be like this, we all are fans of the show Mjht, n we have our fav. but we should not start agruing on who gets more screenspace, scenes, dialogues, or whatever... Peace

c i will every show has it good days and it bad days ... i dont c the harm in calling BAD .... well BAD .. mayb i can sugar coat it and say its NOT SO GOOD .... but y should i say its good wen its not !!!!!
i knw everyone here gets really excited when they find out that one of the creatives from the show visit the forum ..... well i have a feeling creatives from other shows also visit India forums but yes am grateful to the fact that Pd takes time from her busy schedule and shares all these scoops with us ..... i really appreciate her for making this effort for us ..... BUT BUT BUT does dis mean that v should continue to blindly pretend to LIKE /LOVE the show even if v rnt really happy with it .... whats the purpose of having the creatives take our feedback when v arent being honest with her ........ Us telling her what v dont like in thw show will actually help them better the show ... dont tell me the creatives r 5 yr olds who would feel upset if v dont praise them all the time !!!!
yes offcourse sometimes the language used is quite harsh but the mdos r donig a very good job in moderating and guiding the members ... personaly i dont make it my business to comment on other's language and inference and blah blah blah ..... live and let live is my motto
i agree at times things get out of hand ..f ights break out or v get into heated arguements.... u knw y .. coz v all ARE/ WERE passionate fans ... v all take time from our busy schedule to come online and make sure our suggestion is read by pd or that v post our feedback .... now if Pd is making an eftra effort i think v also ARE making an extra effort for the show ..... communication is a 2 way street ... both the parties benefit from it !!!!
and frankly if Pd feels dis forum is a war place am sorry i dont think the members r to b solely blamed for it .....u want me to dug out posts where she has admitted that they HAD deviated from the TRACK ..... once the show improves believe me all these fights and agruements will also end ( offcourse some petty minds will still keep fighting coz dey have nntg better to do )
and honestly if we OWE it to her to improve the ambience o this forum .. then i feel the creatives OWE it to us to improve the show

There are two types of criticisms: destructive and constructive as implied by the topic starter. Constructive criticism is helpful, whereas destructive ruins the unity and halts progress. There is also something known as humanity. The individual who provides us information about her work should be respected as well as her ideas. As loyal viewers and fans we should provide her feedback and critique her work in order to help her do better in the future that is what the forum is all about, suggestions, thoughts etc. However, as viewers we do not have the right to hurt an individual and her feelings to the point that she has to feel disheartened; therefore I do not see anything wrong with apologizing. I appreciate her hard work and her teams', if I feel sad or happy about a particular part of the show one should write it to her, because she needs to know how her work connected with her viewers, but she cannot be blamed or attacked so ruthlessly like I have seen in the creative thread. I like reading all the thoughts here and post mine from now on, because it enhances our favorite show. Again, like the topic starter I would suggest to everyone that let us be constructive and maintain the forum's positivity, as I have seen as a silent reader for months.
