If, through some miracle, Mayur portray the role of darcy-lizzy exactly like that of the book, then I would say that the Mayank we used to get before the sidelining began and all......that Mayank was perfect as Darcy. So it would be good to see Mayank like that.

As for Samrat-Sheena being Bingley-Jane........that offends me already😆. Samrat is perfect for Bingley, no arguement with that. But Sheena, she is anything but Jane. Not just because of what Sheena is, but even the description of Jane that we got in the book......that is not Sheena. Jane is supposed to be a beauty, and angelic one........not only that, her face should carry a peaceful impression, which sheena does not have either.

I am hoping against hope that they will not ruin P&P for me.

Yeah the only way Mayur will nail the play is if the old Mayank came back!

Agreed on the Sam-Sheena thing. Sam is really fit for Bingley....but I can NEVER see sheena as Jane. She just does not have that thing in her. that beauty, that calmness....

I'm hoping that this will turn out good. This is my last hope now...

P.S. You are absolutly right about the BBC version being the best! I just loved it!!!

I am making a conscious effort to not complain about the track as I find it an utterly useless exercise. Plus, being as attached to MN/AR as I am, there is no way I can quit the show. So I am conveniently letting myself be happy with what flashes we get of MN and hoping that the track will once again enthrall me as much as those good old days of MJHT had... and please creatives, no matter how 'modern' the adaptation is, do NOT ruin P&P. That would almost be an unforgivable mistake...

@Black : I agree with everything. No matter what they are doing with the MN track of how much screen space they are getting and no matter how much I don't like that treatment, I don;t think I can quit watching the show. Because ArTi make sure of that.

I'm hoping against hope yaar that at least this time we won;t be disappointed. Otherwise I'm really low on expectations....

I'll just try to enjoy the play and if any mayur moments come along in the way then tha even BETTER!

Also yeah I don;t want them to ruin one of the best literary works....

coming to the theme, oh I so remember when we were discussing this in the FS thread about how it should be P&P....and when Benji ananounced na, I literally jumped!

PD is so secretive, she never even gave a clue when all the discussion was going on!

I couldn;t believe that our wishes had come true! Becaue Mayank is SO like a desi version of Darcy that its too good..

Thank god that it was this love story and not something cheesy like Romeo and Juliet because I really would have been put off then. What with the MN treatment and all...

And since now, I'm making a concious effort to not discuss MN problems with the track anywhere as I really want to enjoy the play and not crib about it every other scene....so I will try to push down the feeling of disappointment...and ignore it.
