Cut to: Samrat - audi
He too is searching for Nupur and can't seem to find her anywhere. None of the doctors know, neither do any classmates.
Samrat: I hope Nupur thik ho. Agar use kuch ho gaya toh chashmish bardasht nahi kar paayegi. (He crashes into Mayank, who is searching too and is visibly upset.)
Samrat: oh sorry Mayank. Nupur ko dhund rahe ho?
(Mayank doesn't reply and looks at Samrat with a nasty expression, thinking that he cant stop pulling his leg even in such a critical situation. Samrat senses his feelings and is quick to correct the misunderstanding.)
Main bhi use hi dhund raha hu dude! Bahar Gunjan bahut pareshan hai..ek toh Nupur tab stage par hi thi na. Pata nahi use..
Mayank: (frenzied) Samrat! Uske saath stage par aur bhi toh log honge na, wo mile kya?
Samrat: pata nahi..unhe dekha toh nahi maine.
Mayank: (curses himself) pata nahi main thoda jaldi kyun nahi aaya, agar uske saath hota toh..
Samrat: toh tum kya kar lete Mayank? Blast ke baare me hume prior warning thode hi thi.
Mayank ignores his last comment and decides to go and check the stage area once again. Samrat follows him. The fire is out by now but due to the impact of the blast the stage is all in pieces and lies as a scattered crumb of particles. As Mayank looks around frantically, he suddenly spots a piece of blue cloth peeping at him from under a huge mass of debris. Samrat notices it too and together they lift the heavy remains of the stage only to get the shock of their lives. There, under the stage or what remains of it, lies an unconscious and badly injured Nupur! Mayank's eyes fill with tears as he quickly checks to see if she is breathing. Slightly reassured when he finds that she still is, he glances around to spot the nearest ambulance. The doctors are busy getting victims into them.
Samrat: Mayank, tum Nupur ke saath ruko. Main ambulance..
Mayank: bahut der ho jaayegi Samrat.
(He bends down and lifts Nupur into his strong, secure arms and carries her as fast as possible to an ambulance.)
Samrat: (seeing Benji and Gunjan walk towards him) Tum hospital jaao, main Gunjan ko lekar aata hu.
Mayank nods and gets into the ambulance while Samrat runs to tell Gunjan all that happened. Inside the ambulance, as Mayank sees how badly injured Nupur is and how ghastly quiet, he musters as much strength as possible to pray - to ask God to save the life of a girl who had unknowingly formed a special place for herself in his heart.
(Mayank looks at the unconscious Nupur and strokes her forehead.)
Mayank: main vaada karta hu ke aaj ke baad tum jitna bhi bolo main tumhe chup nahi karaunga. Project report nahi bhi banaogi toh nahi daantunga. Bas tum thik ho jaayo, ok? Nahi toh main..bas thik ho jaao.
The ambulance gets closer to the hospital but for Mayank the distance seems formidably long. For what is possibly the first time in his life, he is unsure of himself. And unsure of how disastrous life can turn out to be, in just a few moments.
