Cut to: Inside the audi
The police and the ambulance are both there and busy at work while the media clicks away. The Page 3
reporters who were there for snapshots of the glittering talent parade are now photographing pictures
contrastingly grim. The doctors from Sanjeevani are busy giving first aid to the many injured people.
Near the door of the audi, Gunjan is bitterly crying and Samrat and Benji are trying hard to console her.

Benji: Gunjan dont worry. Nupur thik hogi..bas mil jaayegi thodi der me.
Samrat: aur nahi toh kya? I am sure wo bhi tumhe dhund rahi hogi.

(Their consolation seems to have no effect and she again makes an attempt to go inside. Samrat gets hold of her and forcibly makes her stay where she is.)

Gunjan: Samrat plz! Jab yeh..blast hua..toh di stage par thi! Na jaane wo kaisi hai. Maine har jagah dekh
liya par wo kahi nahi mili. Unhe kuch ho gaya toh main..

(With all the love she feels for her big sister, she cant take this anxiety much more and her eyes get red
with tears. Samrat is feeling helpless but he cant allow her to go in. The audi is full of smoke and the fire
is still not totally out in several places. Its as much as the ambulance can do to take away the victims. He
goes closer to Gunjan and wipes her eyes with his hands.)

Samrat: (very softly) Mujhe pata hai ke tum Nupur se bahut pyar karti ho. Aur itni pyari ladki ka pyar
God bhi nahi cheen sakta.

(Gunjan gets a little quieter and raises her head to look up at him)

Tum yahi ruko, main andar dobara dekh kar aata hu. (He moves towards the door and then again turns back to come to her.)
Aur haan, main apne saath Nupur ko toh launga hi isliye tum, please rona nahi. Nahi toh wo mujhe itna sunayegi ke kaan phat jaayenge. Aur waise bhi, mere aas paas koi rota hai toh mujhe bahut bura lagta hai..aur khaas kar tum..(affectionately) chashmish!
(Benji suddenly spots Mayank rush into the audi and gestures Samrat, who follows.)

Cut to: Audi - Mayank
As he takes in the entire post-blast scene, his sole reaction is that of shock..and of a lingering guilt. He
should have been able to stop this from happening! If he had been on the stage with Nupur, things would
have turned out differently. All sorts of absurd realizations plague him as he cant spot Nupur anywhere.
As he sees Muskaan nurse a girl with a hurt leg, he remembers her as the doctor friend Nupur had once
introduced him to. He remembers thinking that she too was a little mad and thus apt for Nupur.

(Flash back: Mayank & Nupur - Beach)

Nupur: By God Mayank! Ek icecream ko lekar itna drama maine aaj tak nahi dekha.
Mayank: tumhare saath rehkar koi aur kuch nahi toh drama toh seekhega hi na Nupur.
Nupur: acha. Toh tum kehna chahte ho ke main dramebaaz hu?
Mayank: arey main toh bas chahta hu. Tum mujhe kabhi kuch kehne hi kaha deti ho?
Nupur: Mayank chalo na icecream khaate hai! Sham ko khaane se tumhe sardi nahi lag jaayegi. Lag gayi na toh main dawai khila dungi, thik hai?

(We see a girl walk up to them with two icecream cones in her hand. She offers the cones to Mayur, who
are still arguing - to eat or not to eat?)

Muskaan: arey kha bhi lo guys! Meri taraf se treat!
Nupur: Muskaan tu! Yeh toh gazab ho gaya. Mujhe pata hi nahi tha tu Mumbai me hai!
Muskan: diya na surprise? (smiles) main na Sanjeevani hospital me intern hu..
Nupur: arey wah, doctor! (turns to Mayank) Mayank ye Muskaan hai..Morena me hum saath saath school
me the pata hai! Muskaan ye Mayank hai..mere college me padhta hai.
(Mayank gives her a courteous smile)
Nupur: ab toh ye icecream doctor ne di hai. Ab toh tum ise khaoge na? Please Mayank...please Mayank...!!
Mayank: acha acha thik hai..thank u Muskaan.
Muskaan: arey mention not. Waise bhi paise Rahul se churaye hai..mera kya jaata hai? (Nupur and
Muskaan share a laugh while Mayank wonders what expression to give.)

Cut to present:
Mayank: um..Muskaan?
Muskaan: Mayank! Nupur ke dost right?
Mayank: haan..suno Nupur kaha hai?
Muskaan: (worried) pata nahi Mayank..stage gir jaane ki wajah se problem ho gayi hai..ab tak mujhe nahi mili woh.
Mayank: (more to himself than to her)wo..wo thik toh hai na?
Muskaan: I really hope so..
