Chapter 5: I 'm with you
AN : This chapter was the most diffucult one too wrote . So please let me know what you think :) Chapals and tomatoes are allowed. Sorry for any typos and have a nice reading .
"But how did you get away?" Alia asked him with a weak voice
"One day it was very bad at home, I heard him argue with my mother and before I could do something. He hit her so hard with his whiskey - bottle that mother fell down unconscious. When I saw all the blood, I really thought that she was dead, and at that moment I had lost my reason for live. I yelled at him, told him I hated him and that he was a murder. It made the angrier he so he came to me and held the shotgun screamed that I was a worthless brat and from the day I came into this world I had only brought misfortune for him. I was a scared ten year old boy, and I thought he would kill me. Maybe he would, but I grabbed one of the guns from his closet and shot him in self-defense. I could have killed him that day, I almost did, if sergeant Harshad had not come at the right time and stopped me from doing the biggest mistake of my life"
"In the beginning I reacted as you react now. They tried to push me to testify about it. But I would not say a single word, scared as I was for the most part. But when I found out about that my mother was alive, that was when I knew she became my responsibility from that day. Slowly but surely I finally get through my head that he was wrong, he did an illegal act, and that he would get the punishment he deserved. He shot at me, and there was nothing that could justify it. And both I and my mother would have it much better and safer when he was behind bars. If I had not testified that day, I doubt I would be here today. You have to give yourself that chance Alia. There was a tense silence in the room and Ranveer could see that alia hesitated and Ranveer closed his eyes because he was afraid that she would not answer the question. But what happened the moment shocked not only Ranveer but shocked Alia as well. Because she had with a little voice said "B" It was everything, but it was not enough.
"And where did you get that bruise from again? "asked Ranveer. Alia did not respond and went back to looking at her shoes.
"Alia, I wont be able to help you , if you don't tell me " said Ranveer urgently. " My mom, she hit me with a frying pan "Ranveer could see guilt and sorrow in her eyes.
"But she did not mean to do it and she ..." Alia said nothing more, she just sobbed. Ranveer comforted her, wiped away her tears and said to her: "It's going to be okay and we're going to help you." said Ranveer.
"Alia, can you tell me what happened yesterday in details?"asked Harshad which until now had been silent. He knew Ranveer had to leave before this case becomes more personal for him than it already was. The girl nodded and Harshad said to Ranveer that he could go now. Ranveer looked questioningly at the girl and Alia grabbed his hand and said a warm "thank you" before she said "you can go I'm sure fate would let us meet again" Ranveer nodded to the girl and left the room.
Ishani had just had this feeling once before, it was when her mother died. She had hated the world , because it has taken her mother from her. To hear about Ranveer 's past caused her to hate the world again because it stole his childhood. She was a policeman's daughter; she knew that problems like this do not go away with age. She wondered how many demons Ranveer had, and she wondered how she could overlook something like this . They had been best friends since her father had brought Ranveer in their life. What kind of best friend is she?
Ranveer came out of the room and got the biggest surprise, because there she was standing the, the love of his life. Taken back by her presence, he closed her eyes hoping she would disappear. When he opened his eyes and sees that she was still standing there.
"What the hell are you doing her ?" One could hear the anger in his voice. Ishani had never heard Ranveer so angry before, especially not directed at her. Before she could reply, his telephone rang.
"Yes mom, kya ? Don't worry I will bring her with me right now." Said Ranveer and took hold of Ishani 's hand and started walking to walk towards the door.
"But Ranveer.. " tried Ishani to protest, but Ranveer stopped her.
"Ab main kuch nahi sunnoga , Ishani . You have made enough damage for today; did you even for one minute think what you did by leaving the party? " Said Ranveer .
"Leikin, Ranveer main to .." before Ishani could say more .
"Ishani, we will talk when we get home, right now just sit in the car ." demanded Ranveer.
"Fine, but this conversation is not done "said Ishani stubbornly and went to sit in the car.
Ishani could not handle the silence so she took on the music and both got lost in the lyrics because it explained everything. But what happened next , surprised Ishani more. Ranveer started singing :
Khamoshiyan aawaz hai
Tum sun'ne to aao kabhi
Chaukhar tumhe khill jaayengi
Ghar inko bulaoo kabhi
Beqarar hain bhaat karne ko
Kehne do inke zaara

Ranveer 's voice was magical and one could see that he meant every word. Ishani was trying to think what Ranveer was trying to tell , deciding that she would ask him when they would talk later. For now she wanted to enjoy this side of her Ranveer.

Mere samay toh wahin pe hai thehra hua
Bataaun tumhe kya mere sath kya hua hua

Ranveer did not understand how Ishani could leave her engagement part, just so she could check if he was okey or not. He decided he will ask her later, for now he just tried to put all his feelings into the song. When Ishani gave him her million dollar smile, he felt like he has touched the moon. Now it was Ishani's time to surprise Ranveer , because she decided she would be the one to continue with the song.

When the song ended , they have reached outside her house . Before getting out of the car, Ishani took Ranveer's hand and said with love " I'm with you now matter what " and Ranveer was taken back by the love he heard in her voice .
"Back at ya" answered Ranveer .
" You and me always "
"... And forever " Ranveer finished Ishani 's sentence. Together hand in hand they walked towards her house .
