Chapter 25: Broken
She felt broken; her whole secure and happy world was shaking. Some hours back she was so happy, she had seen her sister after so long. So thrilled to see her sister, that she tried to unseen the pain she saw in Disha 's eyes. She had clearly seen that Disha was trying to hide it, after the family dinner Ishani had confronted Disha.
At first Disha pretended there was nothing, but then Ranveer had entered and asked her sister to finally tell her. For God 's sake she wished she never had to find out. What do you do when you find out that your sister has cancer?
Disha had told everything, how Disha found out about the illness in the USA . Her trip to India , meating Ranveer secretly , the kasaam she made Ranveer swear and Ranveer had helped here. She was happy that Disha had Ranveer with here every step on the way, but it pained Ishani to know that Ranveer knew all this time and did not tell here. She hated the fact that her sister trusted Ranveer with this, but not here, did they both think she was so weak.
"Ishani "Ranveer said , trying to get here attention . Ishani had run from the room and Ranveer had assured a worried Disha that he would look after Ishani.
Ishani had no intention to say something. She was lost deep within her thoughts and did not react to his caller until his hand ran up here back trying to calm here with soothing strokes.
Ishani turned around so she could face him, she stood frozen she could see the love and care in his eyes. Ishani did not know why she was terrified, but a cold chill went down her spine in response to the emptiness she was feeling.
She closed her eyes, and tried to think from his point of view. She opened her eyes and her eyes found his eyes, normally Ishani would have needed the comfort she found in his eyes. But at that moment she needed to be alone , she needed to think clearly , find a way to help Disha and she needed to know if she still could trust Ranveer after this.
" Ranveer , do you remember the times you needed personal space and I gave it to you ?" asked Ishani quietly.
" Of course , but Ishani I ---"
" I need to be alone for some time , Ranveer can you give me some time for myself. Could you please do that for me?
She saw the understanding in his eyes , but the pain was also visible . She could understand his both emotions because she felt the same whenever Ranveer asked here , but she had given him and she expected that from his as well.
"Why are you pushing me away? I know you are upset that I did not tell you, but I had to respect Disha 's decision and it was important that Disha was physically and mentally ready to tell you guys.
I can take all your anger towards me, but please don't push me away "she heard him say.
"I am just requesting you to give me some time alone "she said gently.
"We made a promise to each other that nothing would tear us apart "Ranveer stated his eyes filling up with tears now and hell Ishani was also crying now. There was nothing she wanted to do more than hug him, but she could not.
"It won't "she said, even if she felt broken, she could not blame Ranveer for this Because if she had been in his situation she would have done the same thing, she would have respected Disha 's desition and would have given her time .
"Ranveer I am not giving up on us, I still love you and always will. All I am asking for is alone time , I need to think alone so I can figure out everything I have found out" Ishani tried to explain.
"Okey "Ranveer said and she saw him nod. She could hear the hurt from the one word he spoke, his eyes had a sadness and disappointment in them. She had the urge to hug him.
Since her birthday she had been in a dream world, full of unbelievable joy. But the true was while she was having the best day of her lives; Ranveer was going through so much. She had thought the world was perfect after Ranveer confessed but Ranveer on the other hand had worried about her sister. Yet he had made sure that she would not find about this, he had not given her a second moment were she would not feel loved and pampered.
"Please "Ishani, begged Ranveer to understand.
"Okey, Ishani but I am here for you "Ranveer said his voice clear now and determined.
"Every step on the way " she added a half smile on her face now.
She hated herself for feeling so vulnerable and weak; she turned around and left silently because she knew if she kept starring at his eyes she would never leave his embrace. She drove to the beach near Ranveer 's place, where she had found him when he had told her about his painful past related to Ridhima.
She looked at the sea and thought that her life had been beautiful just like the ocean. But here perfect life was just a lie, the truth was that her sister 's life was in danger. Her mind tumbled with possibilities to how to save her sister.
"Can I save her " she asked and was not expecting a answered.
"We will fight every second for here "she heard Ranveer 's voice and turned head to see him. He gave her an apologetic smile, and she laughed she should have understood he could not stay away. He could see her dark eyes were full of tears but he could also see something he had not seen previously: hope .
Ranveer wrapped his arms around her, his warmth were comforting here.
"I am afraid "Ishani admitted
"We will beat this together "Ranveer whispered and Ishani took his words for it .
