Chapter 21: Heartbeats
He had mentally prepared himself to confront a raging Ishani, but what he saw before his eyes broke his heart. He would anytime take a angry Ishani than the Ishani whom he saw now. This Ishani was completely gray in the face; it looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Ishani" said Ranveer very worried to see her react like that. He did not know quite what he expected but he had hoped to get answers at least because everything was better than silence. The Ishani he knew loved to rant all the time.
When he saw that Ishani did not say a word, she was just staring at him, seeing this made Ranveer more worried. This reminded him about the time after her mother passed away. That was when it dawned for Ranveer what Ishani felt and why she reacted that way.
Ishani 's mother had talked with Ishani on the phone while she was driving, but Falguni had came in a car accident . The death of Falguni had affected Ishani very badly, she stopped talking to anyone and was all alone until Ranveer came in her life and slowly gave her a new reason to live.
Ranveer slowly walked over to her, he knew more than words than his words she needed to feel his presence, his love. He gently hugged here and Ishani rested here head on his shoulder, Ranveer knew both needed to feel each other's presence.
After a while, he heard her sobbing in his arms. He whispered comforting words in her ears. Especially he repeated the words "I love you " and " I 'm not going to leave you " He knew it was
the words she wanted him to confirm. So it goes, until one time came when Ishani finally said "why?
Ranveer said in a calm voice while he stroked her hair gently as reassured Ishani.
"I turned off the phone because a person's life was in danger and I had to act fast and efficient. I did not answered the phone because I was in the hospital with her, and my full attention was on if she would be well or not. I'm sorry for seeing the missed calls late, I am also sorry that I scared you and I 'm sorry that this reminded you about how your mother left the world. But you should know that I will always be by your side even if you see me or not."
Ishani nodded and kept on whipping , and for every teardrop that fell from her eyes pained Ranveer 's heart because he hated to see here in pain. But he knew she needed to let it out , just like Ishani had made a promise to fought against Ranveer 's demons with her love. Ranveer gently kissed each one of her tear drops and whispered loud enough to Ishani to hear " I will fight against your fear , by being with you every step even if you don't see me . But remember where ever you are , you will find me and ,my love for you "
Ranveer made Ishani lay on the bed , and went beside her on the bed he was in a sitting position and Ishani looked at him teary eyed and Ranveer took her hands in his hands , caressed her head and whipped away her tears. This way Ranveer was trying to ease away her pain and he observed that the frown had gone away and slowly she stopped crying and her hold on his hand got ten times stronger,
After a while Ranveer kindly said " So jao , Ishani " Ishani nodded and Ranveer smiled and kindly said " God night Ishu " and was about to stand up to leave so she could sleep peacefully but Ishani took hold of his hands once again and with weak voice she said :
" Where are you going ? Please don't go , please I need you to bee here. Promise me you will be here when I wake up ?" Ishani requested , and by hearing Ishani 's request he could not refuse her after all he knew he needed this as well so he could look after here to see if she was fine or not.
Ranveer laid down beside here , and Ishani rested her head on his chest and was listening to his heartbeats to keep reminding herself that he was right next to here and that he was okay. Ranveer noticed that and gently whispered in her ears " Mere dil ko kuch nahi ho , after all tumhare paas hai so it won't happen anything to it " and Ishani smiled when she heard his words. Seeing Ishani smile made Ranveer 's heart to beat faster and Ishani heard that and that made her smile wider. Because there was no doubt in her mind that Ranveer 's heart beated Ishani's name.
Ranveer kissed her head and Ishani dossed of but Ranveer could not sleep , event that had appeared today was keeping him awake.
Ishani clinged to Ranveer in her sleep and Ranveer thought for himself that he know now why Disha does not want to tell you that she has cancer , because she know 's you would not be able to handle it. Your mother's dead almost killed you Ishani. But he also knew that it was not right to keep Disha's disease as a secret for her family , but they deserved to know. Slowly he said :" Maine kasaam di , Disha that I won't tell anyone . But you have not sweared that you won't tell anyone. I will make you understand " Ranveer said quietly.
AN : I don't know why I 'm not able to write longer chapters , trust me I really tried this time . So since I have earlier writed abou Ranveer having a emontionall meltdown and Ishani beeing there for him I just felt it would only be fear if I wrote a emontional meltdown for Ishani as well . And Disha's truth is also out .
