Why do they need a divorce ?

The marriage occurred under false pretences so Radha can get it annulled ..why go through the divorce route ?

As far as I know the marriage can be annulled if the couple has not had a physical relationship with each other.

So annulment is possible even the marriage was real.

Either the option of annulment has not occurred to the CVs or the divorce procedure and getting LD to sign on them is a just way to delay the whole process. The pundit was real all the rituals were real so the marriage did happen in that case they do have to apply for the divorce mutual or through court according to isha's mum .

You are right about annulment but the idea is that neither Radha nor her family wanted to press charges of fraud against LD and his family. That is the only ground under which they can get the marriage annulled by proving that the marriage happened in a fraudulent manner in which case LD will be facing charges.

The peaceful way to deal with this issue without causing any more harm to either parties was to go for a mutual divorce.

all she can say is they dont share a physical relationship and they are not compatible

and an annulment can be granted

why be a divorcee and have that attached to you for the rest of your life when one can just get an annulment.

Those are not grounds for annulment in India.
