Why is Chandni marrying PJ?

Chandni is the ladli of the house then why can't she speak the truth that she doesn't want to marry at least not to PJ...Clearly this PJ is a male chauvinist brute and they have nothing in common...he dominates Chandni scolds and insults her for everything even if it is not her fault....why can't Chandni report all these to her family? Why do they have to make the protagonist almost dumb to portray her moral excellence? If she opens her mouth and speaks her heart will she not be the innocent, loving and charming girl anymore? 😲

I don't think a girl who has all the support of her family would agree to marry a boy like PJ just because her Lalaji dreams of her marriage! Oh common! Lalaji sathiya gaye hain that is why being so wise and experienced he can't judge PJ and his family's intentions.😡
