I fail to understand Kushias rant about modern bahu Riya.Anything wrong in the family she quickly n blindly blames Riyad...calling her modern .Well Riya has been brought up in an environment where everyone could voice their opinions and was given the freedom to choose between right and wrong and stand up for the rights . Whereas in Shanti Sadan it's completely different . .more of a conservative type and you are suppressed . It's true that education is a key factor here and Riya has had the opportunity to embrace the modern thoughts yet staying in the decorum of societal values.

Kushia blames Riya for being modern and spoiling her Preeti bitiya. But Preeti had Mohit as her boyfriend before Riya came into Shanti Sedan. Preeti used to secretly admire Mohit n meet him...Isn't this not modern? Running away from the wedding . ..and meeting Mohit...Isn't this not the modern thinking . Openly broadcasting her love over the radio...
Isn't this not modern ? Having Mohit in her bedroom secretly...Isn't this modern ? After marriage to Nandu. ...having extra marital affairs...
Isn't this modern . ? Beating the drum and announcing her love for another man..
Isn't this modern . ? Divorcing and getting married again..Isn't this not modern . ? Question is where and when has Riya done any of these to influence Preeti?
For Kushia Riya is the cause of all problems in Preeti s life ...just because she is in par with the modern world . ..
But Kushia you forgot your the so called innocent daughter is far more modern than Riya.As far as l know Riya has respect for her elders and have values to keep a family intact .

Shrivastav family is shown conservative from the beginning...All decision are taken by the eldest person in the house and others has to follow it. (Shantiya is very clever and she know how to force her decisions over others...Raghav blindly loves his mother and never question her about anything...so Kusiya had to accept all Shantiya decision)...Its Riya who had promised Shivam that she will adjust with his family...but Riya always fails in that 😕 ...Its ok that Riya is modern and she had her own opinion but she always goes to solve any problem without informing elders...sometimes even she didn't tell any thing to Shivam too...that's why she is held responsible for all stuff... In a conservative family nobody likes that a bahu taking decision without even asking anyone. 😲 . Riya is educated but she doesn't have much experience...so she always fails ...and always says SORRY 😆

I understand what you are saying and agree with you to some extend but my question is why Riya be held responsible for Mohit's entrance in Preeti's life. He was there before Riya met Shivam and got married.

^why is riya being completely blamed for the wedding fiasco when it was her own daughter preeti responsible for being lured into mohitwa's words and being majorly responsible for the kaand

This may be too extreme, but maybe... Kushia is jealous of the education and privilege that Riya has and the dynamic (Currently) that she has with her own mother-in-law. Yeah, Shanti Devi can get on the "Modern Bahuriya ki waji se..." train, but recently, Dadi has been treating Riya very tamely whereas in the beginning episodes, Shanti did not give any leniency to her daughter-in-law or her daughters. Now, Riya has a job and she does not always get scolded for doing something that Dadi doesn't know about... but Kaushlaya has to reveal every single minute of her life time to her mother-in-law.
Basically, the entire family is weighed down by Shanti's rule, and so, they are affected mentally by it and they are trying to put the same pressure on Riya to accept the same rules. They cannot understand why Riya gets more chances of redemption than them.

Currently, Riya is trying not to anger Dadi, so she is slowly succumbing to Dadi's rules, but definitely, Riya has more privileges because of her education than Kaushlaya.

It's just a theory, but a mother-in-law will usually project what she gets onto her daughter-in-law, and hopefully this is the main message of the drama because they do hint at Shanti Devi's mother in law too - Imli Devi - as Sarla will pretend to be possessed by her and Shanti's power was destroyed by this single game.

I personally think they should begin to address these problems because they are becoming more and more extreme.

The problem is that Riya was born in an independent family, so she did not ever consider the need for taking every single decision with the help of the family. In Shanti's family, this is not the case. Riya is too used to her old life and, therefore, she is learning to adjust to this new family dynamic. Once she learns how - give it 2/3 years - she will definitely oppose Shanti. Right now, she has to solidify her space in the family. The problem is that no one understands so it is more difficult to adjust to the family.
