Justice has been served at last...at long last..i'm glad that for once the indian judicial system has acted rightly and justly..
and for those who're feeling sad and upset about this sentence..do all of you know what trauma the victims of these blasts and their families went through? their lives have been torn apart, and for no fault of theirs..anyone capable of getting involved in such cases, getting involved in ANY WAY deserves to be punished.

The reason to keep someone in Jail is to keep them locked away from society b/c they pose as a threat. In the last 12 years he has done nothing that would make us believe he is a threat to society. Sanjay Dutt has a big fan follwoing and can have an impact on people. Court could have ordered him to spend a certain amount of hours each day doing community work. Also he has been through many things in life, like drug abuse, he could have been asked to go and give the message to youth how important it is to stay away from drugs. What good is going to come out of sending him to Jail? He has already realized he made a mistake. Many many criminals who have done a lot worse then him are roaming the streets, with their heads held high and committing the same crimes again and again. This is all about Media coverage.

Well, I think the law must be the same for everyone. I'm glad that law hasn't been really lenient to him because he is a big star... There should be no special treatment for anyone. If he has committed a crime, he must assume the consequences. Though I have mixed feelings about this. I'm somewhat a fan of Sanjay Dutt after Lage Raho Munnabhai... 😳

it is true that law should treat everyone equally... but how much media coverage did the others involved in this case get compared to Sanjay Dutt? Everything related to Sanjay Dutt's case is open to the public and under their scrutiny so now we have to ask ourselves... does all that really allow for Sanjay Dutt to get the same treatment as others?

When a person is changed and has already suffered the punishment once, then six years is too harsh! When I saw the news,I felt very sad but then I saw that IF Telly Buzz article where ppl said it is fair because celebrities do set an example and so it was right but also, six years is too much!Because of the past, you cant ruin ones present and future who has already suffered much.....Its fair if it was of 2-3 years but 6 years? You cant change the past or wat has happened and yet 6 years? Its foolishness!

The reason we have jails, a justice system, courts, laws etc. is so that we can maintain order in our society. So tha people don't go around harming others or causing them pain. When somebody commits a crime they are punished so they can learn what they did was wrong and then better themselves to not commit that crime again and become a better citizen. Has Sanjay dutt not done that? In the last 12 years has he not gotten his life back on track. After coming out of Jail, he could have let his life go and just become a burden to society. But instead he fought back, re-gained his career and did well for himself. He committed the crime, he realized his mistake and in many ways paid for it, as it is not being easy having the word... terrorist with a big question mark hanging over your head, celebrity or not. What is the point of sending him to Jail? Why lock him up, when the law, could use him in a much better and productive way, where everyone benefits, through community service and all that. Going to Jail is not always the Solution!

As for the families of the people who passed away. I sincerely feel for them. But putting Sanjay Dutt in Jail will not bring back their loved ones. However, if Sanjay dutt who has a major fan-following and can have an impact on people was asked to go speak to the youth. Tell them how difficult life is in Jail (since he has experienced it first hand), talk to them about staying away from drugs, about how you can get ur life back on track despite having many set-backs in life, how never to lose hope and keep going to become a better person. Maybe he could save another mis-lead teen or youth from becoming a terrorist, or using drugs, or picking up a weapon on themselves or against another. He could save a life in the way... I am sure that a mother who might have lost her son in the bomb blast would rather see another son saved then Sanjay dutt sitting in Jail.
