Everyone present in the room had their eye on the big clock, looking at it as the small needle ticked and seconds passed into minutes. Time was at a slow pace today or at least that's what they concluded. Every now and then their eyes left the clock for a nanosecond, giving a glance at the door before it retuned back to it. None of them were known for their patience yet they were sticking by just because the guest they were expecting was special and they knew, they were to be benefited by this meeting.

"I don't think hes coming! I'm tired of waiting!" Grumbled Ben as he fiddled with his watch. Whispers of agreement could be heard.

"True. I'm tired and hungry too. And khali pet mere dimaag ki bati nahi jalti!" Motucomplained as Patlu, his companion shook his head.

"Come friends, we have to wait for him. We know that today we are all assembled here so that we can meet him and learn from him. And there is no harm in waiting for a few more minutes", Doremon, the future cat-bot tried to explain.

Just at the moment, the door swung open to their guest. The cartoons gathered in the room looked curiously at the door, waiting for that special guest to come in. He was no Superman but he was pretty well known and he was loved by all. As they imagined a hero with a cape and a special suit to make an entry, they were nothing but disappointed when instead walked in a lazy cat yawning away. He looked around and without even bothering to wave or greet anyone, he slumped into the nearest couch before scratching his back with his paw.

T o m took his time to look around the big room. He could see various strange creatures of all shape, size and colour, creature who were known as today's cartoons. All eyes were him and he knew that they expected him to speak but no words were to be said unless they initiated a conversation themselves. After all, he wasted a good day of lazing around in the Sun without the stupid brown mouse to bother him around to come here and meet these good for nothing cartoons.

"Hi! I'm Oggy!" A weird looking blue creature interrupted the silence, not being able to bear it any longer. "I'm Oggy the infamous cat from the show 'Oggy and the Cockroaches ."

Tom raised an eye brow, amused at the weird looking creature's introduction.
"Pray tell me, how the hell are you a cat? I'm a cat and I feel no shame to admit that you are a disgrace to all cats. In what way do you even resemble a cat? Were your makers high when they created you?" Gasps were heard at Tom's answer, followed by whispers which made Oggy hang his head and curse himself for speaking out loud.

Hattori cleared his throat to grab the attention of everyone.
"Hi Tom! Nice to meet you. I'm Hattori, a Ninja from Japan. It's really nice of you to spare some time from your busy schedule to come and meet us, we really appreciate it" (Though not meaning it even a bit).
Tom scoffed at that but Hattori didn't stop. "So as you have already been informed, we just wanted you to share some of your opinions and views regarding cartoons over the generations. Though we all are popular cartoons of this time, we still hear people complain how the modern cartoons are disappointing in comparison to the old ones and we wanted to know what we lack".

Tom tilted his head. 'That's easy' he thought, after all complaining about these new cartoons wasn't tough. Tom never was fond of these new shows and there were series of things that bothered him. Stating them out wasn't difficult.

"First of all, I don't understand why do you all have these weird looks and even intolerable names. How the hell in anyway, is this blue creature called Oggy and that modern pocket Jeanie Doremon supposed to be a cat? It doesn't make sense at all! What the hell does 'haddi mera buddy' even mean? Bones my friend? 😳 What kind of names do the shows have!" Tom exclaimed in a single breath.

"Second and the foremost, what kind of stories do you all have? The new shows seem to be promoting more violence and there is so much noise. I once tried to watch a show called Power Rangers. I suffered from a headache. Why are all of you so keen to save the world from dangers which include from a simple thing as a school bully to aliens from other planet! I thought those jobs were of superheroes"

"Another of the things that annoys me is the stupid music and background voice they add to every other show. Oh those good old days when we all were silent and yet made people ROFL! 🤣 Remember Charlie Chaplain? Or Mr Bean? They never uttered a single word yet were known to be best in comedy. Where as today, more irritating dubbed voices are being added in an unsuccessful attempt to make the audience laugh" Tom continued.

"Children in those days were peaceful and good. Cartoons were made keeping in mind the mindset of the children ranging from 2-9 years old. Cartoons such as Mickey Mouse club house and Dora actually taught something whereas today all the children learn are inappropriate way of speaking and harmful actions. Last week, I heard a kid threatening his father saying 'bacha nahi kehna ha uncle' , aree bache ko bacha nahi kahenge toh kissi kahenge! (See, even now an American Cartoon speaking Hindi doesn't make sense!)"

Tom took a deep breath before continuing again,"Cartoons are supposed to funny and silly. I mean how do you explain a sponge living in a pineapple or children being able to visit the land of dinosaurs with just touch of a stone. Why would a honey licking bear be friends with a piglet? Cartoons don't make sense, they aren't based on science thus the effect of gravity only taking place after the cartoon look down when flying in the air can't be justified. But that doesn't meant you create illogical cartoons"

"Today's cartoons are great too but like those hundreds of parents I too favour the 90s cartoons"

Tom concluded his speech. "Any questions?"

A little dog raised his hand to which Tomnodded his head,"Aren't you sometimes scared that old cartoons such as you are endangered. Aren't scared at maybe the upcoming generation may never experience the good old 90s cartoons?"

Tom laughed at his question. Everyone looked at him surprised and some even wondered if he was sleepy. "You my friend have asked a good question and you should know that - NO, I don't fear over such things. Cartoons come and and go but we are legends, we are replayed time and again by all generations and always are remembered cause the Best of Then continues to be the Best of NOW 😎"

Tom: [looking for Jerry after the cabin burnt down] Oh, Jerry, Jerry where are ya? Don't leave me little buddy, you just gotta be here.
[Jerry reveals to the viewers that he is standing behind him on a piece of the cabin]
Tom: What would I do without ya? You were the best pal anyone could ever have! Oh, please be alive!
I promise ya...*sobs*
Jerry: All the cheese I can eat?
Tom: Yeah, all the cheese you can eat.

Jerry: And no more traps?
Tom: No more traps.

Jerry: And no tricks?
Tom: No tricks
Jerry: That's a promise?
Tom: That's a...

[realizes Jerry is behind him, grabs him]
Tom: Ooh... I'm gonna. Why, you little...!

Jerry: You okay, pal?
Tom: Yeah, but don't call me pal *snobs*

The evergreen Cat and Mouse who tease each other, fight with each other but invariably stick around. They are synonymous with entertainment for the crowd and for a spat against each other.

But shockingly, we know only a little about them. Let's check out the other trivias here!

Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse are the stars of the long running series of short theatrical cartoons produced by MGM - The series won Seven Academy Awards for Animated Short Film.

2017 marks the 77th Anniversary of Tom and Jerry's debut (February 10, 1940).

Before receiving the names of Tom & Jerry, the duo had rather different personas. In their first appearance in 1940, Tom was called Jasper and while Jerry was referred to as Jinx by the animators.

Tom & Jerry had their own spin-off series made in the 1950s named the Spike & Tyke featuring the well-known bulldog and his cute son. However, it ran for only two episodes, because the studio closed.

In 1975 Tom and Jerry actually went on to become best friends. Yes! They even travelled the world together and competed in various sports, solved mysteries and a lot more things. However, do you think a cat and mouse can be friends forever??Exactly and so it didn't last forever and soon they were rivals again.

Though Tom & Jerry is an American cartoon but for a brief period in the 1960s the animated series were made in Czechoslovakia. The 13 Czech episodes had a very different tone and hard-edged violence along with a strange atmosphere. Thank God they came back to America 😆

So that's about Tom & Jerry.

Too proud and brooding to have known Mickey for ages? Test your knowledge here!

"When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his popularity. I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing that it was all started by a mouse".
-Walt Disney

Mickey Mouse is an animated anthropomorphic mouse created by Walt Disney and UB Iwerks in 1928. Mickey rapidly rose to the pinnacle of American culture, becoming the most popular and recognizable cartoon character in the world. He is also Disney's proud mascot

Mickey Mouse was originally supposed to be named Mortimer

Minnie Mouse is Mickey's longtime sweet girlfriend. They have a bunch of closest friends namely, Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto

Mickey's official birthday is Nov. 18, 1928

Walt Disney was the voice of Mickey from 1928-1946

Mickey has two nephews named Morty and Ferdy and also has a sister named Amelia Fieldmouse.
