Rest In Peace ~James Avery~ 'Uncle Phil' of Fresh Prince of Bel Air!!!

On the 1st of January 2014,
We lose a brilliant actor , James Avery, who portrayed one of
The best and iconic characters on US/UK television!

He was mainly know as Philip banks or 'uncle Phil' on
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air!


He also stared in other shows, such as Greys anatomy,
And Star Trek!


He died due to complications from his open heart surgery.

His onscreen son of the show (Carlton) Alfonso Ribeiro was the first person to
Announce his death over Facebook. He wrote:

"The world has lost a truly special man. I am very saddened to say that James Avery has passed,Even though he played my father on TV, he was a wonderful father figure to me in life. He will be deeply missed."

Tatyana Ali :His onscreen daughter who played (Ashley) in the show
Tweeted:
"James was my teacher my protector & the most magnificent actor. We're feeling his loss very deeply. He'll always be apart of me #JamesAvery."

I grew up watching Fresh prince of bel air so its very special for me.

May is soul rest in peace. I love this show one of my fav show kept me alive not being depressed wen I first moved to US from India .we will miss you?

Uncle Phil was one of my favourite characters from Fresh Prince...

Avery was such an amazing actor. Loved him in Fresh Prince and he was truly blessed to make us all smile and laugh every day. My condolence is with his family and friends.
