Main Hoon Don?

This was the first Bollywood movie I saw in theaters. I was wondering what everyone's take on it. I'm recently looked into the original Don back in 1978 and it was received equally well. However the American version: The Death and Life of Bobby Z did horribly. Any guesses on why that is considering both Don movies are very Americanized. Why does it seem like Americanized Bollywood movies do so much better, yet some Indian based American movies do so poorly?
