I could listen to each one and not care for the cold

Eagerly would listen to every tale that they told.

The earth shows its splendour through the warm hue

A marvelous canvas it does paint so bewitching and true.

The swallows and the geese get ready to leave the land

To warmer places far away - to the silver sands.

The ache in my heart fades as I watch the river

So ethereal and silent, you're locked in time forever.

Autumn Musings--By Maris

Hark!! You hear the gentle swish of falling leaves
Fluttering and swaying its last journey downward.

The wind and waning sun guiding the gliding leaves
A blanket soon to cover the cold and lonely earth.

A riot of colors: red, brown, orange and yellow
Gods own painting, a melange of his expression.

Crisp and crunchy leaves; fallen blooms and flowers
They bow and fall for one last swan song

Cats and rodents, squirrels and frogs
Foraying for food under the bronze foliage

Birds and insects, chirpping and buzzing
Singing the joyous chorus of pleasurable fall.

The soft and mouldy earth
A loamy scent of fallow season.

Every leaf a colorful flower
A journery of life lived its full.

Trees shedding their tears of joy
Their carpet an ode to nature's rest.

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Harvest and reaps, labour of hommage to Gods.

An orchestra of fall played by colorful leaves
A promise of better tidings for cold and frosty winter.

Its the Autumn unplugged
God's favourite season

Hope and faith for coming times
Promises and positives renewed in humans.

Its the Autumn now, full and expanse
A portrait etched in our hearts.

Time and time seasons change
Yet Autumn waves a mystical magic.

Its the Autumn now
Enjoy the savor of each falling leaf.

Very nice post 👍🏼 Autumn or Fall is my favorite time of the year. There are lots of memories associated with Fall...of beginning a new semester at college, of going for a long walk and going berserk clicking pictures with my camera, of halloween parties 😃 I kind of miss that in India 😍
