This one was kinda seen given the fact his recent dishes weren't that impressive to the eyes.

I know right? Both for her and Rukshar. Guest judge finds flaws. *run to find top qualities*

The guest judge did not look too impressed with Nambi and Rukshar throughout the episode. He definitely liked Aashiq. And I think his other fav was Suraj. The way he complimented their breads as they were baking and then he went up and helped Aashiq in making the celery sheet and gave that small smile at his sauce, Chef Manu definitely liked them.

One thing I will compliment Suraj on is his self-awareness. He knew that he hadn't done well today and he was ready to go home. Even as Ranveer was explaining the lowest rated dish, he looked ready for his name to be called out. He genuinely looked shocked that it wasn't him.

This pressure test was probably the first one that was on MC level. It had several different cooking styles, innovation, and a lot of minutiae.

Tomorrow I feel like we can say bye to Suraj. And Thursday it'll be between Nambi and Aashiq. The way the chefs are going I think they may take 2 females to the grand finale but let's see.

Nidhi - chickpeas

Harry - lemon/lime

Rukhsaar - chicken

Aashiq - Basa fish

Suraj - pistachios

Nambi - black rice

Nidhi made a beetroot hummus and broccoli falafel with pita bread. She couldn’t find yeast in the pantry so she used baking powder and baking flour. Her pita bread was too hard (like a bhakri as a guest judge said. Bhakri is a thick dry flatbread made of millets). Beetroot hummus is way too common, we’ve seen a lot of variation of falafel as well. There’s so much more she could’ve done with chickpeas. It’s such a versatile ingredient. Her dish in my opinion lacked any thought. The plating for a change was decent.

Harry made a cauliflower steak with some lemon drizzle and a lemon sauce, he added grilled tofu for protein and some sautéed spinach. He also added a Parmesan and lemon crisp. His dish didn’t sound interesting or even appealing to me. But atleast it seemed more unique compared to Nidhi’s. They appreciated that he used lemon in so many elements.

Rukhsaar - she made some chicken kofta with saffron risotto and salad. She still stuck to her Kashmiri cooking. Again nothing new. The guest judges said that they didn’t understand the risotto in this dish but chef Pooja immediately jumped to say how it worked for her, the creaminess went well with the kofta curry. The guest judges liked her kofta but not all liked her risotto. The original judges of course went ga ga over her dish.

Aashiq - he made dalia risotto cooked in fish stock and beetroot juice, baked fish with kumquat sauce and zest, grilled vegetables and grapes in some kind of vinegar (that he didn’t use well last week). His plate looked dull. It was minimalistic, but the colours of his dish needed a different plate in my opinion. I appreciate that he made something different and even tried using an ingredient he failed at using correctly in a previous challenge. Truly shows how much he’s evolved. He got mostly good reviews, the candied kumquat he used as garnish was a masterstroke.

Suraj- he made pistachio mousse topped with curry powder ganache served on a coffee crumble with mango ginger and green apple sauce. It looked good and sounded amazing, except for the coffee crumble. But apparently it worked. I think his dish was unanimously praised.

Nambi - she made black rice pancakes, with a sweet bean stuffing served with coconut and jaggery infused cream to make it seem like pitha served with some berries. To me it seemed like a very simple dish and reminded me of Nidhi’s pancakes. Her dish was praised a lot, maybe it tasted good but innovation wise I’m not convinced. Even the sweet beans is not innovation, quite popular in the far east.

Overall I’m happy Nidhi is gone, but I’m surprised they didn’t try to save her over Harry.

Nidhi tried to choose a safer option. Hummus, falafel & pita bread. If she could not find yeast she could have used dahi & baking soda + powder. That funda Ranveer gave regarding acid is so basic. I am wondering what training they provided to the contestants now! If someone has made nan/ tandoori roti anytime they know curd is added to achieve that soft texture. Also the most funny part is, her dish did not have so many elements for her to forget yeast!

Nambi - i am so done with the splattered sauce style plating. It looks unappetising for me. She had some berry. She did not even taste it. From her & Vikas’s conversation it looked like she mistook it for another ingredient! Yeah red bean as a filling is very popular in Sg, Malaysia. She also chose to play safe. Nothing innovative in her dish. She could have attempted a bun(bao) or pizza with black rice flour. I did not get her sesame sprinkled whipped cream. Wait, she said crepe & made some round, thick ones. Vikas went gaga over it. I thought only Ranveer belonged to the over acting ki dukan! Pooja topped the list in this episode by asking everyone to give chef’s kiss.

Ruksar - Again she played very safe. Ranveer literally told her to add more fat. The comment that without a cream the risotto is creamy made no sense. Risotto is not run of the mill Indian restaurant’s gravy where you’ll find cream as the main ingredient. What is so special about chicken meatballs? Instead of saffron rice she did a saffron risotto! Pooja liked all the flavours? Did the producers ask her to talk about someone else but she voiced it out for Ruksar? Lol!

The last 3 ladies were such a disappointment. No innovation!!

Suraj - his dessert looked nice. I don’t know how a curry leaf with pistachios would taste. Again he also got a lot of inputs to keep his pistachio butter smooth, add some chopped pistachio's. Yes his dish was praised unanimously.

Harry - cauliflower looked too soft for me. Not a fan of cauli steak. Been there done that! What protein that tiny piece of tofu can give 😂 he got a lot of comments which appeared more on the lines of after thought. He might be kicked out next.

Md. Ashiq - he tasted the Kumquat & realised it is such a delicate fruit. I also appreciate him for using Kachampuli vinegar which he failed to use well in the last round. Fish looked ok. Not impressive.

Even if it had been impressive he does not have a sob story & he is definitely not from Kashmir like Ruksar or North East India like Nambi. Those are praised even if they lack innovation. Especially Ruksar

@ bold - yes! Same thoughts!

Suraj ka elimination was dependant on the judges mood. If he gets kicked out then again no surprises. Only if he is taken till final round it will be a surprise 😂

Rukshar beside making koftey pulav or rice i mean- made almost nothing new in this whole season. And nambi those platting- almost same every day! I really doubt her food was that good! Last season still nayanjyoti was the winner - dil ko sukuun mila tha, this time i am really afraid,it would be rukshar or nambi:( Ashiq was so so good throughout the season but may be he did not make it:(

Indian reality shows are crap from last few years:( even one cooking show is not free from biased ness!
