Frankly I don't know much about Bengali cooking, except for 'mishty dohi', which I love. But reading other comments I thought it is widely used in Bengali cuisine. But one thing is definite (just goggled), that Bengalis traditionally eat on the ground with a large banana leaf serving as the plate and they also wrap fish and other meats and vegetable in banana leaf before steaming etc. But it was evident that Doyle was familiar with uses of banana in normal cooking.

I was so sorry to see Yasmin eliminated. Both Doyle and Yasmin are good and creative. When Doyle was contemplating how she would use the bananas, it was obvious that she had used that recipe and raw bananas a lot of time. She seemed very comfortable with them.

Doyle was more innovative as far as all her dishes went and I applaud her for it.

Then there was Yasmin, who had already given up before the competition even began. Her dishes were not perfected and completed in time. So this round goes to Doyale who seemed composed throughout the competition..

The question is...did the judges choose bananas knowing that it is very often used in Bengali cuisine. I suppose we will never know that.

I sincerely wish Yasmin all the best in opening a restaurant and becoming very successful. I am proud of you Yasmin. God Bless you

last time yasmin cooked a normal Anda curry... i mean no innovation at all, her dish was nothng agnst devyani's but still she got safe.

not to forget today there were two other main ingredients too. doyle topped in all the three farzans and not jst d banana based.

doyle did better so she won. yasmin deserved to lose with the farzans she made... fair game. atlst one fair game aftr long time
