Comment on burnt cake

When the Red team's cake got burnt, I was surprised to hear the Chef's comment to Devyani which seemed a bit rude - something like you said you are an expert in baking and the look he gave her was 'oh really'.

However, he should realise that they are not baking in their own oven and I am not sure how many families in India have the proper oven. So to pass a comment like that was inappropriate.

Not regarding the cake itself, but somehow I felt the chef was not happy that Devyani was taking the lead in that team but that was also due to Navneet moving back. In a team, that happens and it is actually a sign of good team-work. Remember the captain was selected before the challenge was known.

I also thought that he had to go & point out that the oven bell was ringing & no one was bothered. Therefore he was annoyed by their laid back attitude.

Did Navneet say he is the king of sweets in MasterChef Kitchen?

True. And even after that, people seemed to be moving so hesitanttly

I think it was not scripted. Coz if it happened for once yes it can be scripted but twice it is bit too much. i think they had their cooking technique wrong. either ingredients of topping or use of oven

I am a beginner in baking and touch wood... i have done 8 to 9 times successfully... even the first time i tried, it came out well... if devyani has done baking, i am sure the cake will NEVER turn so black as it was shown... i am DEAD sure it was scripted for them to give nuska... as, if the cake is so MUCH burnt and again cooked , the entire cake will have that BURNT FLAVOUR... and i doubt the judges wud even bother to touch it...forget TASTING...!

Acc to what Bulls says too, i agree, adaptation to that particular oven also might have triggered that prob, BUT still i am not convinced that Devyani wud do such a big BLUNDER...!

I seriously feel it is a gimmick...!
