Strong Priya or Phantom of the Maryada Opera (Aditya)
Ghee seedhi ungli seh nahi nikalti toh tedi ungli istamal kar loπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Is it Just me or do you also feel that Strong Priya just got played like a fresh off the factory line fiddleπŸ˜†?

Being Strong means not accepting help from a man whose name you bear but promptly accepting help from a stranger ironically though unknowingly at the request of a man whose name you bear and whose help you blatantly refused? Strongly obstinateπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Being Strong means going for a job interview knowing that you are an underqualified candidate (basically with no credentials in the trade you are seeking a job in but with a strong desire to be a student) and BELIEVING you got the job fairly and without support/influence through an interview process? Hmm... to the best of my knowledge when employees manage interviews and there a ton of properly or over qualified candidates they either don't pick the least qualified candidate or make sure the boss is ok with their underqualified candidate decision before the hiring process is over, so that they don't fired themselves for their philanthropic moment. Exception to the rule of course being that the lady either was a partner in this law firm or SJ's mother herself πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

So either the CVs have decided that credibility is not required this late in the game or the invisible support structure behind Strong Priya will be used as the reason for the next seperationπŸ˜†

Well at least she is convinced that she won the first battle (πŸ˜•I'm sorry what battle again?? Independence battle with Aditya? I though she was trying to be independent for herself not to prove anythng to anyoneπŸ˜•) through prayers, a good samaritan and a very philanthropic hiring manager. Good going Priya. More power to youπŸ˜ƒ

Now for My Poor Adi

Dear Dear soul. Stuck in limbo where all the women in life love him to pieces but do not trust him with any confidences. Sorry to give you the sad news honey but you better make peace with yourself and realize you are pretty much just eye candy for these women and us of courseπŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

it's ok we still love you

But I have to say that Season 2 will focus entirely on poor Adi and how he wins the battle to regain his mental fortitude through intensive psychiatiric counsellingπŸ˜‰

He just found out his dad's a rapist, his bro's gay, his wife has abandoned him, his mother is hoping the scum really has property for her upkeep now that she is single, his aunt's prego with his half-bro or sis, they all lie to him and tell him absolutely nada except for the daily menu. Add a dog and old hat and he is a walking talking country western songπŸ˜† This dude's life is just sad. He NEEDS politics. Politics will be doing him a favour by adding some spice back into his life Finally he will get the inside tracks on all lies and scandals πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

And Saving the Best for Last

Strong Uttara and Jailed Brahma. There she came spewing early morning righteous and vindictive fire and brimstone. She threathened him with abortion. Dear Jailed Brahma was probably thinking: Is this a mirage? No no wait it is not Devyani its the other one. ok no mirage. Woman, did you have to come before they served the sloppy porridge for breakfast? they already have me in solitary. I have been stripped of wife, family, money, stars, respect, freedom. Do you think I care a flying you know what that you are going to get an abortion? If I had to get stressed over all the abortions I have single handedly caused across Rohtak and the entire region that I presided over and showered with my Jaat oats I would have committed suicide myself a long time ago?πŸ˜†

Then there's always Hope that he does careπŸ˜‰πŸ˜† (all puns intended)

That's all folks!!!

- Thank you for pinpointing the absurdity of Priya getting the jobπŸ€ͺand Brahma giving 2 hoots about Uttara aborting

And Aditya truly does need psychotherapy - gay bro, rapist/murder dad, wife abandonment which he does deserve, parent's divorce, aunty preggers with 1/2 bro... all that remains if for Sweetie to run off with some lame dudeπŸ˜†πŸ˜†

πŸ˜†...nice...I like!

This whole exercise in independence by Priya is silly, cliched and boring. That said, she did need to take a break from Aditya...I just wish the creatives had explored Priya's reaction and growth more...errr...creatively! πŸ˜†

As far as Aditya is concerned...I have no pity for his character. Yup...it's RaQesh eye-candy factor that has still kept this character even remotely attractive to the viewers! Aditya has been shown as a dumb, stubborn, impulsive and border-line MCP-ish guy. He has no room, based on how he has been shown, to call Priya's behavior obstinacy. I do agree with you though about him needing politics...it would make him more relevant plus that would also serve the dual purpose of keeping RD on the screen!

One thing that annoys me about Indian dramas is why is that when they decide to show a woman independent and strong they are somehow made to look stupid. Everything they do seems unreal and so far fetched from reality.
Priya although a strong person yet makes some very stupid decisions which is not the first time. In the past when Brhama was sane and out and about in the Jhakar mansion she used to try to hold him by the horns and challenge him openly.
Now she takes the job at SJ's office which she could have done two episode earlier and saved us the agony of having to watch her being adventurous like Tintin (as Hope said) and her so called interview where she told the HR ( I am assuming this) how she needs the job to achieve the very same qualification which she needs for the jobπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† as if it was an apprenticeship. The funniest bit was she actually thinking that she got the job based on her meritsπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.
In this case I find Vidya who is only passed 10th smarter who despite having no reason to be in that house continues to stay there to find a purpose to her life. I was well impressed with her when she told her mother what i need in my life i can only achieve in the jhakkar house. When the drama stated I thought she was the dumbest but have to say she is fast learner. She knows the Jhakar's have ruined her life so why not use them to get what you want especially when they have so much haram ka paisa and are guilt ridden and will don anything in their power to make peace with their conscious
Now lets talk about our Ramta Jogi Aditya. s if he hadn't dealt with enough in last two months that he gets another shocker he is going to have a half brother/sis from her massi. From my POV he needs therapy and then join politics again or he might just take sanyas.

KC, you know what i noticed. they seem to imply that a woman should demonstrate strength only when she is single. she how they show Priya and Devyani as being very submissive to their spouses and now that they have seperated or divorced they show them on the journey for independence. That is so wrong yaar. Why is living in harmony with a man seen as being submissive? Brahma I can understand but Priya? In her relationship with Aditya, he always treated her as a an equal. In fact he always was shown relying on her when he lost his own strength, yet when she relies on him in her low moments that is shown as weak? remember how he told her I need you badly when he found out Gaurav's truth? So does that mean that his independence and strength was lost and he became a wuss when he got married to Priya? This hard and fast link between marriage and independence is such crap. Why do they have to show it as a battle when Aditya is fully supporting her and his only intervention is for health and safety reasons?

Priya although a strong person yet makes some very stupid decisions which is not the first time. In the past when Brhama was sane and out and about in the Jhakar mansion she used to try to hold him by the horns and challenge him openly.

I mentioned this in my last post that most of her so called daring challenges to Brahma were foolish and immature becasue she was never really equipped to mete it out inspite of Aditya.
Now she takes the job at SJ's office which she could have done two episode earlier and saved us the agony of having to watch her being adventurous like Tintin (as Hope said) and her so called interview where she told the HR ( I am assuming this) how she needs the job to achieve the very same qualification which she needs for the jobπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† as if it was an apprenticeship. she wanted to be what we called in Canada an articling sudent when they were obviously looking for something like a junior lawyer. I can imagine that her fight for independence will be focussed on workign her MIL's case and winning her full alimony, etc. etc,
In this case I find Vidya who is only passed 10th smarter who despite having no reason to be in that house continues to stay there to find a purpose to her life. I agree. though I wish they show her decide to do somethign more than just be remarried or a nursemaid to the rest of the J family.

when I saw his face I felt so bad. but you know what when you sow the seed its pretty dumb to expect no plant to grow especially when the ground is not barren eh?

Aditya made one error in judgement but at the time that decision was required his judgement was impaired. I don't understand why he is being portrayed in the same category as Brhama or Gaurav through the fates of the women? Priya's situation is no where close to Vidya's or Devyani's or Utttara's? Her choices are self made not thrust upon her by circumstances or lack of options. I feel less sympathetic towards here than I do for Vidya per say

I comemnd this show or the issues it has addressed and hot it has showed women succumb, submit, perseverse and rise up against the odds. their unique strengths, their determination and their dynamic with the people in their lifes and their outlook on their reality.

I definitely think this is a ground breaking show. I saw Pratigya and was royally disappointed. I started watching this show last thursday from the start and cannot get enough.

So don't take me wrong. I was just kidding in my original post. But I do feel that they should not make this independence journey of Priya's a rebellion against aditya and a payback for his lack of trust. All I am saying is that Priya should be independent for her self. She should not treat people who want to help her including aditya as crutches. it is just a comment. Inspite of my opinion, I still veyr much am enjoying the show thus far.

She was applying to be an assistant wasn't she? You don't need many qualifications for that anyway lol. I like the story right now, all the women are dealing with their realities, Priya had to deal with all of the consequences of her case against brahma, no one respects her. We've seen her go from hopeless to hopeful in a matter if episodes, and I can't wait to see her grow more.

Uttara has the most complicated, intersting story of all. And Vidya is proving her loyalty to the family by sticking around and supporting Uttara. Aditya made a mistake and he's paying for it. I think the story is fine right now, I can't wait till devyani comes back!

Thanks

I agree about Priya

However, I do believe that Aditya is the glue that is holding things together in this family. Similar to Devyani in some way. but dissimilar in the sense that Devyani held it together but required everyone to make significant compromises. Aditya accepts the issues (let's leave his love for dad aside) i.e. gay, wife's molestation by someone, masi's abuse etc at the hand of maasa, priya';s desire for independence and has tried to work on solutions through understanding and discussion as opposed to asking the victims to make significant compromises.

Aditya and Priya are both vital as they give strength in different forms to the victims in the show

Priya always ends up identifying or causing Aditya to realize the problem and Aditya somehow is involved in the solution. that is why they make a good team.

What I always liked about Aditya is whenever he felt Priya was strong enough to fight her own battles he stepped aside and silently supported even empowered her. exception being his own conflicted situation with his dad. I am not of hte opinion that a person's single error in judgement or slip washes away all his past efforts and his own good character

I am not saying this because he is a man. I mean becasue he is a good and helpful individual - hsi own gender aside
