Bold and edgy

STAR Plus recently launched another late night show, a family drama. Following the success of Kaali-Ek Agnipariksha, the show, which is called Maryada Lekin Kab Tak, is about four women and their struggle in a male-dominated society.

The show is set in Haryana, which makes it all the more interesting. The family, the Jhakkar family is a traditional Jat family. The casting of the show is done perfectly especially the role of Devyani and Brahmanand Jhakkar played by National award winning Bengali actress Indrani Halder and Vishwanath Pradhan respectively.

It is also good to see Rakesh Vashisht (Rakesh Bapat), who plays Aditya , in a different role. Then the role of Priya is played actress Riddhi Dogra, who has really worked hard to give such hard hitting role.

What works for the story is each episode is reasonably fast paced. The performances especially by all four women are good. We love Indrani Halder as the calm and composed Devyani. Her sister Uttara played by great actress Kamya Punjabi is the battered wife.

We can also expect to see a new Jodi in Priya-Aditya
