I love this illustration by J J Grandville captioned "Qui aime bien chtie bien"...meaning...Who loves well, punishes well showing a man spanking a child and another beating his wife...a satirical view of abuse! Expresses the vicious cycle in such a simple way.

Yes...I just watched yesterday's episode. Analysis to follow.

Maryada is attempting something bold and it also has a very a late time slot which makes me think that hopefully it WILL show something bold.

However, it is also falling prey to the TRP trap and trying to lure viewers with the promise of the extra-dramatic ad illogical romance angle by having aditya throwing all logic to the winds and running after priya and not doing the one reflex action one does when one finds someone else's wallet in one's hands: open it.

There's just something in the pair to make them exciting to watch but continuing with such plots is surely going to take the spotlight away from the real drama. Well, looking forward to hearing your views on the mega episode on saturday because that episode and how they portray Priya and her past, is going to determine how this serial is going to shape up.

Uttara and her knife-tales was interesting because the story-writers were sensible enough to make the couple patch up and not be so completely judgmental upon rishabh. AND show something positive in their relationship and some glimpse of WHY on earth would a woman like uttara have agreed to marry him in the first place i.e the man rishabh must have been in the beginning.

Jays...Monday's episode was so good! My favorite scene was the conversation between Devyani and her father-in-law. It was insightful and nicely reflected the depth only a relationship of 30 years can have. I wonder why he has not stood up for her with Brahmanand. I want to know his back story with his son. They do not seem to have any conversation at all...wonder why.

Love reading your view as always. The illustration above...apt!

Eloquent.... wohoooooooooo that was awesome 👏..n a take pinpointing the exact nodal issue which shall determine the shows future in terms of conceptual groW*H...!! Really wanna see how the CVs r gonna handle this really really SENSITIVE plot..!!
Btw of all the things... since i havent seen the show from start... i m kinda wondering... looking at the pic of Rishabh-Uttara with a baby as to where that baby is....🤔 or was it the cause of Rishabhs downfall??

Dear Jaya,

Thanks for making regular analysis. They are very interesting, more so because I am expecting something really sensible from this show and you are making a very nice analysis. I am usually very busy with my work and hence might not reply regularly, but will definitely take time to read your analysis. Please keep going. In the following I am just pasting my thoughts about the overall picture till now, which I posted in some other post. This is not on a particular episode but a more general thoughts.

I am actually expecting a lot more from this show. I really liked the first 3 episodes very much, though can't say what exactly I liked in it. Probably the way the story is shown, the way the characters are introduced and the way the issues are introduced.

But something still is missing for me. As I said I am really expecting this show to be a serious one, which can satisfy the serious thinker in me. But I think they need time to develop the story before the marriage of Adi - priya and need to hold on the audience till then also. So I think they are either showing the dream sequences or potraying the scenes b/w the two in a more romantic way than which can naturally gell with the current situation. But I think that is slightly diluting the story. Apart from that the things that are really interesting me are

1) Uttara
2) Devyani and her father-in-law (especially yesterday's + last but one scene)
3) Priya's father and his reactions to the situtions
4) Devyani SSP Gaurav relationship
5) I liked the initial scenes b/w Aditya and Priya where the later tries to show her negligence towards her father's efforts.

Many more things look natural. Vidya and her grandma's reaction. Gaurav's reaction towards Vidya and her anitcs. Uttara Adi relationship also looks interesting. I mean I can list many which are interesting angles in this. But still something is missing. I don't know what right now ? Will give it a try for some more time..

YES, I very much liked the drunk scene. I felt the entire sequence (minus the dream scene) is scripted out very well. It is excellent in the sense, i can see the woman (Uttara to be more precise) struggling out and getting some momentary accomplishment of doing something against the norms and getting delighted for it at least momentarily. And then the sudden transition from that delated state to the horror situation of facing the reality again (when the husband starts shouting at SSP). I feel the whole sequence, including the transitions in the moods, was excuted well.

finally........first of all, HATE exams on EID 😭.........
neway, thanks for the wonderful analysis Jaya (di)......*ok, don't kill me i just felt ke u r older than me😆*........
BINGO!!......so, i was quite rite abt Rishabh's character......the poor guy is messed up with his life surrounded by helplessness/anger/trust/unlucky-relationship AND love.......the only characteristic i remember about him is that he was a very good hockey player but after the accident everything seemed to turn upside down for him......
Loved the part of uttara-rishabh......sometimes we unwillingly hurt the ppl we love the most and before we realise it, the damage was done.......n it doesn't end here, the worst part is that we keep repeating the same mistakes and mentally kick ourselves afterwards......we are not super human here, it needs a lot for one to learn to bear the most difficult phase of the life, especially, when it seems like life is being unfair ONLY with him/her......
Now abt the purse, so, I found a purse (or was given a purse) n i had to return it to the right person......wait a second, I don't even know whom I am going to look for.....I atleast need a name or a photo, I can't just walk around and ask random ppl abt if it's her purse or not.......so, the first thing i wud do is to open the purse for some clue *DUH*......didn't adi go to the electricity office to look for the lady to return the purse???.....but hey....how does he know whom he is looking for????......so that was a slight disappointment to me......
overall i loved the epi........
however, i m scared for the maha epi.......i don't want SSP to be the rapist.......darnit........how can priya live under the same roof with her rapist and that too HER F-I-L.......crap.....if it was Gaurav, it wud have been bearable......but then how wud she be able to utter the word "dad", like calling her rapist......omg, it's already giving me goosebumps
luv
