... without aditya-priya's love story ?
I doubt it would work! Deliberately or coincidentally, the creatives / producers have turned the Aditya Priya love story into the show's USP and now the audience is hooked on to the show because of Adi and Priya!
... its still early days but the episodes they don't have the some romance by the pair and especially a couple of antics by aditya, i find those episodes boring and a drag .......
You bet! And it shows on the forum too! The episodes where they show Adi and Priya scenes, there is maximum traffic and lots of discussions, else it is quite tepid! Also, Adi / Priya scenes together looked far more well-directed and gripping than the scenes with other charaters!
The problem is that when you start a show with a concept of 4 women's struggle you are in great danger of moving from entertaining to sermonizing and bhashaan heavy mode .....
That is always there! And in the end, most of the audience is comprised of people who watch television for entertainment and not education! It would be safe to say, that in general, we Indians face a lot of 'reality' on a day to day basis and when we sit in front of the television, the main thing in our mind is to unwind, relax and escape! Not end up watching what we can read every day in the newspapers and watch on News channels!
Vidya story with gaurav should be be interesting ..... frankly i have no interest in uttara's abusive marriage because that has been done a lot of times on other shows ... i love her jat-mosi avtaar more and her scenes with adi always make me smile ...... devyaani irritates me with her standard solution to every problem "agar aaurat chaahe toh ........ " , so i don't want to know her problems at all .....
Devyani's character is the most irritating, Vidya's is the most boring and Uttara's is the most realistic! Devyani puts most of us off, Vidya puts most of us to sleep and Uttara (her abusive marriage, not her character itself) makes most of us uncomfortable! Even in the Vidya / Gaurav relationship, I think the interesting part happens to be of Gaurav's...that is if he indeed turns out to be a homosexual! Vidya's failed marriage will be a bye-product of what Gaurav is going through...hence, atleast, I feel more sympathetic to Gaurav's situation rather than Vidya's! I wish the creatives would show Gaurav's agony and dilemma, than show what Vidya will go through later on! There have been enough shows about a woman trapped in a failed marriage, very few about men trapped in loveless relationships!
.... rather than making it like a nari-aandolan morcha with a love story on the side, the show would benefit if it was primarily a love story with all the other struggles intertwined .......
That would be perfect! Aditya and Priya both have very interesting characters and their personal chemistry is top-notch! Maryada can be kept primarily as a love story between these two, with both Priya and Aditya playing their respective roles in other character's lives! I am not saying that the creatives should show lovey-dovey scenes between them in every episode, but their 'relationship' should be at the core of the serial and not in the sidelines!
because right now i get the feeling, that they are just going to rush into aditya-priya's wedding and then we will start with all the "maryaada" stuff ...... instead they should develop the love story, make it realistic, and cute and definitely long ....... because currently i am watching the show only for aditya .. as poppy said on another thread - he should seriously stop being so cute! 😳 Its very distracting!
They should not, not, not rush Aditya and Priya's story at all! It would kill all the romance in it! If anything, they should keep them seperated for some time, let Aditya struggle to find her, let Priya take Adi's words to heart and find the will to live again...and let them meet when Priya is back to being strong, self-respecting and bold woman again! There are loads of ways to prolong the love story between Adi and Priya without boring the audience...rushing them into marriage would take away their charm!
Adi's cuteness is the cause of many a heartaches, Bips...
