I do think rather than criticizing those who criticized the movie, accepting the balls that the movie wasn't on par yet the team had a good time + learning from what could've been creatively & technically improved as to not to repeat in the future projects. 😆

People were comparing to Panipat, another of Dutt's movies...directed acclaimed director by Ashutosh Gowarikar. He didn't post any tweet then. Is Shamshera better than Panipat... probably not. (I haven't watched either of the movies)

I think because the hype might've come the cast/crew from the movie + buzz around them lately, if you look at it, more than the direction/acting of the movie.

Paniput, I don't think Panipat was as overtly hyped as this movie was (some credit goes to Alia's success with Gangubai, her marriage to Ranbir/pregnancy, thereby keeping him in limelight & thus this movie getting hyped). Perhaps, they were thinking this movie would achieve stardom over being tanked on BO and in reviews.

This is first release for Ranbir in 4 years. And his on screen absence, marriage and pregnancy cannot be contributing factors for the success to a movie. It released in over 4000 screens and yet failed to garner any business which says a lot. Average moviegoer's perception about the movie's resemblance to Thugs of Hindustan didn't do any favors too.

I agree. The actress playing Monroe has some acting limitations and didn't quite stand out in the trailer.

In a way these people are so lucky nai? A terrorist helper & someone with an average success rate in movies gets paid for a simple tweet. There was also news that Kohli too is paid in crores per tweet inspite of being in bad form for quite some time now. Once a fan base is established you really need not do anything. They can truly live off their past glories.
