Deven Khote joined Ronnie Screwala who had already founded UTV, I mean I read that in the book.

He was also the editor of Lifeline, the iconic TV show made by Vijaya Mehta for UTV. Apart from that UTV also made teleplays out of Vijaya Mehta's play for Doordarshan which have been lost as usual.

You are welcome.

I will elaborate on it tomorrow, please don't be offended because I will have to write about it in a bit detail. You don't have to 'sir' me, you can call me Suraj. I have already told you that.

Oh. I forgot about this.

Vijay Tendulkar wanted to build up his reputation as a playwright but most of his plays were being directed by Mehta. She would get much credit for her work pushing the limelight away from Tendulkar. So he would talk about it behind her back instead of talking to her directly. This might have been a contributing factor for split up in Mehta's Rangayan theatre institute and later it's shutdown.

Vijaya Mehta was part of the first English play from Maharashtra that was to be staged abroad. She had invited Pu La Deshpande for the dress rehearsal of the play. This play was about a sex worker I think. Pu La did not say anything to Mehta after the dress rehearsal but he quietly complained to the authorities that it was unbecoming to have the first English play from India to be about a sex worker. The authorities who had earlier given their permission for the play to go abroad cancelled that permission on Deshpande's complaint. Pu La did all this even though Mehta considered him as her friend. He did inform Mehta after the permission was cancelled and who was perplexed at the cancellation of permission that it was he who had complained to the powers that be.

I picked up Tumbadche Khot - Khand pahila (Bhag 1 and 2) some time back. It is a tome. I will try to read it over the next three days,

A funny thing, after I asked you guys to suggest me a horror movie to watch @iluvusakshi had suggested Tumbbad but it was streaming on Amazon Prime so I could not watch it and now I am reading Tumbbadche Khot. Tumbbad seems to be a popular village. Is their a connection between the book and the movie ?

And there are two volumes. I wonder how many years shri Na Pendse required to finish the entire novel. It is like India's War and Peace, one of the novels with most pages to read.

A Big Yikes😵.

Controversial behaviour from these two great writers, especially Pu La Deshpande😵, did not expect it from him, I have started watching his Katha Kathan on youtube👍🏼. I guess all these great men have some not-so-great moments in their life.

Is Ravanayan like Ramayan 😒? Is it good 😊?

I have not read a single book written by V.P.Kale, I am going to remedy that in near future
