I had imagined a bigger confrontation given that the guy is almost of their age...also a little shame of the society, cause like it or not, that is how it is in the society...but here they showed zero objection for that...in fact the promo where the mother drags the girl lying to the husband and gives her hand to the male lead, was so cringe worthy

Because it has been a long and hard journey for the male lead and female lead, or Visha as we call them on this thread. not in one scene have I ever felt that Isha is after vs's money. Her mother is a different story but even she hasn't agreed for the marriage because of his financial status. She said in one episode that she can see how much he loves Isha, not as a mother but as a lady.

@bold, And I wonder, in the time where even same-sex couples are being accepted in our society ,why would it be so shameful to get married to a guy twice her age? No one shamed kareena kapoor, did they ? Neither Saif, for both his marriages.

My maid is 30 year old and her husband is 52. So, you see, I have seen such instances in real life also.

It all depends on one's outlook. And especially ,in love stories ,and that too on tv, who cares about the society.
