CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE




Akshay was very happy with the new prospect of getting together with Mamta and Ganapathy once again😃..but Sid and Tanisha had made up their minds to prevent that🤢..They couldn't let this happen after so much of their efforts🤢....

The Pooja began😳....Mamta took Akshay's aarti and daubed the tilak on his forehead😕...Akshay smiled at her😳 and Mamta was very indifferent ..but it didn't put down Akshay's happy state of mind.. 😳 She looked at the moon through the seive and then looked at him...He again smiled..Mamta closed her eyes..but she saw him😳..she opened her eyes ..suddenly and looked at him..who winked at her😉 with a smile😳..Mamta frowned😡 and looked away from him..but she was helpless as Dadi was standing near them.....Dadi came forward and handed the necklace to Akshay... "Bolu! as you know this is our family necklace and every daughter in law who is gifted this then onwards becomes a symbol of this family's pride and prestige..I want you to tie this necklace in Mamta's neck..as a husband you are her everything..and i want her to carry the family's tradition forwards loving and looking after this house😳..."

Akshay takes the necklace, and looks at Mamta😳..She looks worried😕 ... "Bolu, what are you waiting for ???Don't look at her....Mamta beta turn around.."

Mamta turns unwillingly and Akshay comes near her..he asks her to move her hair from the shoulder...she does that and he ties the necklace😳...Mamta controls her tears😭..and thinks.. "What 'am I doing??Why can't i tell everyone...??I can't do this anymore...no...I no more trust Akshay...I have to leave this house ..."

Dadi hugs her🤗...Akshay and Mamta take her blessings... "May you both live together for ever..and spread happiness in our family....God bless you both..."

This was more than Mamta could tolerate..She lost her control and started crying😭...she ran away from there😭...Akshay called her from behind but she had already gone......

"Bolu..go to her..she hasn't had food since morning..you go and feed her..I'll take care of Ganapathy..we all are here to look after him..go to her..."

Akshay nods to his Dadi with a smile 😳 and walks to his room....Mamta was crying😭 and her sobs pierced his heart...She was in the balcony...Akshay walk towards her....and places a hand on her shoulder..she turns and looks at him....the tears roll down her pink cheeks....

"Akshay, I came here because i found a family here after losing my parents...i don't know where my Manav bhaiyya is..whether he is alive or dead...Maa and Baba loved me like their own daughter and Dadi..she found her incarnation in me...and i was very happy..very happy to have got you..my love,my child..a family that loved me very much...but you in one snap snatched all my entire world..i am again alone..all alone in this world..and i can't pretend anymore and cheat those people who love me and trust me ...i can't Akshay..i can't..."

"Mamta...why do trust Tanisha and not me??I feel pity for our love which is so weak that anyone could break it..you say you loved me..but what kind of love is this..that you lived with me and loved me but never understood my heart..were we that apart or wasn't it love at all.."

Mamta looks at him with shock...and tears fall down...like pearl drops😭...

"Mamta...what has happened to you??You are not my old Mamta..you are full of hatred..my Mamta only knew how to love..she never hated anyone..and now you are hating me..your love...." He take a deep sigh and looks at Mamta who stands there staring at him in agony.. 😭
"After losing my memory after the accident..i got married to Tanisha..i forgot my past..but still in my heart i felt i loved someone even in that treuma..i waited for my love..i never went near Tanisha..i could have done anything to her,she was my wife..but when i never went near her at that time..do you reckon i could have done that later..i recognised you..my love ...and i still love you and only you..i don't care whether you trust me or not...but you can't take away the love for you from my heart..."

"A-k-s-h-a-y!! 😭 "

"Mamta...don't worry....i won't torture you more...i won't make your life hell....i just want to see you happy...and if leaving me gives you that relief ..I'll do that...i'll do anything for your happiness.....please don't hate me.." he breaks down and cries.... 😭 😭 "i can't see ..hatred in your eyes for me..."

"Akshay..." she comes near him and tries to pacify him..with tears in her eyes😭.....

Akshay turns and holds her... "Mamta...i won't hurt you anymore..you want divorce from me..i'll give you that.... 😭 if it gives you happiness i'll do that...but my Ganapathy...i can't live without him..you promise me that you'll let me meet him..everyday..or atleast somedays..."

Mamta wasn't moving after what he said..she looked blankly at the wall of the room without any emotion..😭

Akshay went to the almirah and opened it..he took out the divorce notice and signed it..He then looked at Mamta😭..who was still looking at the wall with tears😭 ....He kept the paper aside and took the plate with parantha and brought near her...

"Mamta...after tonight ..i don't know where will our ways take us...this is the last night that you are my wife...don't worry..i myself will tell the family,the truth..and you can go...then..Mamta you can hate me...but for my sake one last time...please take the food...see i am keeping it here...Dadi thinks that i came here to feed you..but don't worry she'll not know..this is just a belief....you please have the food...i will tell everyone that i fed you...please don't stay hungry..."

Akshay begins to leave but she holds his hand and makes him take a piece of parantha and brings his hand to her mouth...she has the food..and looks at him...Akshay too looks at her but he pulls his hand out of hers and goes away leaving her in chaos 😭 .......

She feels like a knife piercing her..she felt like she's lost him..her love..her everything......she cried and cried..and thought about old days..

CHAPTER SIXTY SIX




Mamta squatted on the floor feeling miserable and remorse ridden😭....She thought that she was very stubborn and angry that she never gave Akshay a chance...and now when he has given up to her demands,she feels like a loser ,a terrible one 😭 She takes her "GB" in her hand and simply stares at him with no sign of motion..her eyes pale and grief stricken.....

Tanisha walks in apprehensively😕 and sits beside her...showing that she was in equal agony😭....she was eavesdroppin on their conversation and heard everything...She though it very important for their plan to prevent Mamta's mind from accepting her heart..

"Mamta... 😭 I am your culprit ..i came in between you and Akshay... i never wanted to build a gap in between you..I am sorry..."

Mamta neither moved nor responded to her sobs..Tanisha was frustrated 😡 .....and tried once again...to move her...

"Mamta...i'll talk to Akshay...and i don't think you need to take a divorce from him..you can just forget the past and live happily once again..Just think nothing happened..i'll go away from here and i can live the rest of my life with the memories of our happy days..my child 😭 😭 😭 it was never meant to be born..perhaps i got a bit greedy.... 😭 'am sorry Mamta.." She gets up to go but this time her tears had hit the jackpot and Mamta held her hand...

"Tanisha don't go...I need you...and I think Akshay and me were never meant to be together.......we are very different from eachother..we can never stay together 😭 it's better that we separate 😭 ..and even if i forgive him and stay with him 😭 my "GB" will never forgive me....nor will i be able to forgive myself for the injustice done to you....Tanisha this has to happen sooner the better..."

"But what about his family??"

"I know that it'll be very difficult for them but they need to know this...i can't play with their emotions anymore....."

....The night creeps in like a python binding it's prey and crushing it...Akshay and Mamta were also being grinded and twisted in this agony... the famous utterence in Shakespeare's "Hamlet" "to be or not to be" suited their state of minds perfectly......

Early morning.....

Akshay wakes up from the sofa and finds Mamta feeding Ganapathy...he steals his eyes and looks away😭...Mamta too feels awkward...Later he comes to her and says, "Mamta I've decided ..today i'll tell the truth to everyone...you don't have to suffer for me ...You can be free from this burden Mamta..."

Mamta simply looks down feeling terrible pain....

Akshay takes Ganapathy from her lap and hugs him..tears fall down his bleary eyes😭...Mamta too cries....but this was inevitable..

Akshay asks Mamta to pack her things..while he goes down to gather everyone in the hall..........

Mamta picks up her and Ganapathy's things and look at the room..she also takes a picture of Akshay and puts it in her bag.....she sits there hugging Ganapathy crying out her heart😭... She looks at Akshay's photo..and remembers the time spent with himmthe most tresured moments of her life😳😭

😳😳😳

She walks slowly down the stairs to the hall..looking like a pale ghost😕 with no emotions....She reaches down in the hall with everyone looking confused and tensed....Akshay was standing in the middle......looking at her ....He came to her and looked at everyone😕.......He began...

"Dadi..and everyone ...i want to tell you something something very heartbreaking but it has to be said...Mamta and I are going to get divorced.....we've decided that we both can't live with eachother...and it's all beacause of me..😭" he breaks down .... The entire family looks shockingly😲 at him..Mamta cries😭...and Ganapathy too feels that there's something wrong going to happen....

Dadi comes to him and slaps him😡.. "Divorce !!😡what do you mean?? 😭Is this marriage just a joke for you?? You are spoiling her life..and it's so easy for you to say divorce..do you reckon what all consequences you'll have to face later..what is your child's fault..and Mamta you are also supporting him in his mad decision..Beta make him understand ..it's not a joke..😭..."

"Dadi...it's true..we've decided and it's not his decision alone..but mine also..."

Dadi looks stunned and puts a hand on her mouth...😲😭

"Beta you too..but you both were so happy till yesterday..what happened this morning..."

Akshay stops Mamta 😭and tells them the entire story..he holds himself culprit and accepts all the allegations thinking that it'll be right..for Mamta ..as the family members wouldn't consider her as wrong..they won't hate her..which he couldn't have tolerated...Mamta looks at him and goes to the door....Rakhi looks at Akshay knowing that her son was taking all the pain for his love..he's innocent....Mamta remembered the necklace..and removed it and came back to Dadi..she gave gave her the necklace and said.. "Dadi ..'am not suited for your son or this family...but i'll always love you and everyone in this house..this would always be my family..." she then turns and runs to the door...She stops at the door and remembers the day Akshay brought her into the house as his wife and sobs into her saree😭....😭Ganapathy looks at Akshay who was also standing with his face turned and tears falling down...He looked at his mother and touched the tears and looked sad😕....

Mamta walks away from the door ,she opens the gate and looks at the house for the final time😭...She walks away on the road not sure of her destiny after leaving her everything..her love,her family and everything..she once loved the most.......

Akshay runs to the window and looks helplessly at her....😭

And so we part our ways..but life goes on and on and we too move with it......with a new hope..as hope never dies....even if dreams do........and they also hoped for a better future .....Goodbye!!!!😭
