Lovely post Arshi!
You put across Bhairavi's role very well. And also the symbolism of Kundalini awakening and the Punarjanma of Rudra. Very apt title.

I loved Seema today. But who is Bhairavi? Is she visible to all? Or she creates illusions? Why was she not visible on the Shivand's GPS? And looks like the Nagas know about the Garuds better than the Garuds themselves 😆

I'll give my two cents on Kundalini. Kundala means coiled. Kundalini is a feminine energy in 3 and a half coils. This energy is situated in the triangular bone at the base of our spine. Incidentally, this bone was called Saccrum (sacred) by the Greeks. When Kundalini rises, she pierces through the 7 chakras and breaks out of the last chakra - Sahastrar integrating us (jeevatma) with the energy of the cosmos - Paramatma. They call it second birth, because the first time we are born as the body, and then by Kundalini awakening, re-born with a new identity that we are part of the cosmos. The death of 'I' ness in a more philosophical sense. So definitely, the scene of Kundalini awakening that the makers showed was symbolic of his punarjanm. Of being born with a new identity. A dwija (twice born) in the true sense. Incidentally, the word dwija can also mean bird in Sanskrit. Symbolisms galore!

What an epjsode. Yeh hui na baat.
Lots of symbolism. And Rudra's punarjanma was shown well. Finally who did I see. Saras!!! With that hairstyle and tilak.

But bhairavi is known to nagas but not Shivanand. That's scary. She seems to exert a lot of control over Rudra. And Shivanand? I wish he was more of a guide than Bhairavi.

And yesterday, I said how convenient of bhairavi to take maimui's body. And it was answered today.

We also guessed that 7th Garuda will have the Chihna on her feet. Which came out to be correct.

And dwija-- yes, anything that's born twice. Birds are born when the egg is laid and again when they crack it.

Muh-dikhayi continues. Today with Leela. Is she the girl in there mere love stories? She looked ok and acted well. I used to call that guy Mr. Dansh and today she said the same.

The whole rudra-bhairavi scene was shot very very well.

True, we did see Saras with the tilak and the hairstyle.

Bhairavi may be the force behind Rudra and help with her ferocious avatar as Bhairavi would be, but I hope Shiva will still be the guide for the garuds.

And yes the girl is from Teri meri love stories Mala.

Nice info. Dwija is bird as an egg form is first birth & then when coming out of egg is second birth. Similarly a boy in good old days was send to Gurukul, so before & after thread ceremony is Dwija.
From Arshi's post ,
I am getting a feeling Rudra achieves it but don't know how he handles it. It could be just his chakra balanced & not Kundalini Jagruti. It's a very specialised job.

Thank you dear, it is indeed a lot of new learning for me. While I enjoyed the visual experience of last night, I was not clear about the meaning of that.

Any knowledge of the Astra that invoked this?

@Arshic that opening of chakras was a treat to watch, especially the one on forehead which looked like Lord Shiva's third eye.
and Shanti thanks a lot for clearing my confusion. Shymaladi's post said 6 chakras, but I had felt 7 chakras. You pic says 7 chakras.
And Arshics I loved the Nag Kanya also😆😆. For a change she didn't look like adarsh bahu, beti. What with doing pistol practice 😆

My dear Arshi,

Spot on, and so comprehensive!

Even I had missed mentioning Naanu's make up, a very queer exercise for someone like him!😉 As for Thandi Ms.Leela, after Maya Memsaab, anyone looks better to me, and then again, our Naga Pramukh does enough (over)acting for two!😉

Here, for anyone interested, is my updated take on the episode, from my own latest thread.

Shyamala

Mahakumbh 62: The rebirth of Rudra

Folks,

This is just a brief impressionistic sketch. Much of it, especially Rudra's initiation rites, to the accompaniment of the haunting Kucch bhi na kaho, was largely visual, and that part was a treat.

After what feels like ages, today's episode had just the right tone of mysticism, and the solemn, moving initiation ceremony was splendid. So I really liked it.

Especially when each of the 6 chakras, along his spine and at the centre of his forehead, was opened one by one. So he has acquired, or released, all the spiritual energy they hold among themselves.

It was a Bhairavi as Maimuyi show all thru, for Rudra had very little to do but be "electrocuted" by lambent energy that courses thru him thru his garuda pramukh staff, and finally fall down in a faint holding it.

Only to be pulled up by Maimuyi, shoved into a dhoti (don't ask from where that came, or all the milk, vibhuti etc. for the panchabhishekam!) and made to sit thru the whole ritual in silence as assorted powders and liquids were poured over him.

Finally, after a huge, slightly teda lal tilak was applied to him, he was allowed to wear a black dress, and to my relief, he was trim, neat, scrubbed and very good to look at in pure black.

He also had his duty as the garuda pramukh, the fact that the fate of millions depended on his fulfilling this duty, especially to guard the amrit, and that he had no business shedding even a single tear - the whole lot of this dinned into his ears with relentless force by a Maimuyi/Bhairavi who was far more of a stern preceptress than the original had ever been.

After watching her in action, I had only one thought and only one question: Aap itne din kahan thin? Pehle kyon nahin prakat huyin??? It is a pity beyond all pities that she did not jump out of that tree a week earlier, for then so much tragedy could have been avoided. But that too was niyati, as she told Rudra with calm finality.

Maybe Bhairavi, being a shape shifter, chose Maimuyi's face, as she told Rudra, because she was the closest to Rudra. But there are no prizes for guessing why the PH chose her, to get Seema Biswas back! Such a wise decision. She must have be a martinet of a schoolmistress in a previous life, and in this one too she cracks the whip and Rudra obeys without question.

So, what Shivanand could not manage in all this time, Bhairavi-Maimuyi achieves in 15 minutes flat. If only Shivanand could have achieved even a fraction of this effortless authority!

He is being buffetted around badly by Dansh, poor chap, and even his fighting skills seem to be very far from enough against the naga pramukh, who keeps proclaiming that this time, the nagas will break the winning streak of the garudas and seize the amrit. One notices that he keeps repeating this, probably to convince himself!😉

The Naanu-Balivesh-Greyerson interlude was an irritating interruption (Greyerson's gerua vastra seems to have shrunk!) , centred on the duo trying to extract not just money but suppliers of weaponry, on the instance of Guru Maharaj. What kind of a sadhu baba is this Guru Maharaj anyway?

Balivesh's tanaa to Greyerson about Katharine made it clear that she had already jumped ship. I hope she got some clothes out of the 'Veshes haveli before doing so, for if we have to see her for the rest of the show in the same pale blue jeans, torn artistically at both knees, it will be cruel and unusual punishment!😉

Then there was Mr. Shampoo Ad trying to flirt with a Girl in Black, a wannabe ace shot, in a markedly affected manner. He was actually talking of dil dhadakna, almost like a human being, except that he is not one.

It might be too late for it, but he should try some anti-acne medicines; his cheeks look like the moon's surface.😉

The Girl in Black, I learned from a thread here, is going to help Rudra in the end. If true, that would be pure irony of the blackest kind!! For now, she is keeping Dansh at a distance, but also on an invisible leash. It was fascinating to watch her technique.

Well, folks, things are looking up for sure, even if I do not believe, for the reasons I had given above, that Maya has passed on. If I can have a Rudra who does not weep or look blank or foam at the mouth, and if he sticks to black outfits, I shall not mind even if Maya gobbles some amrit!😉

Dear Shruthi, Arshi and Santhi,

I have since corrected it, Shruthi, and pasted Santhi's wonderful diagram of all the 7 chakras, of course with attribution, in my response to you.Santhi, thanks a million for such a neat and educative illustration!

Here is some more information that I have collated about the Kundalini shakti, which was not specifically shown yesterday, but is relevant in the context of the opening of the 7 chakras.

THE KUNDALINI SHAKTI

Swami Vivekananda described Kundalini briefly in London during his lectures on Raja Yoga as follows:

"According to the Yogis, there are two nerve currents in the spinal column, called Pingal and Id, and a hollow canal called Sushumna running through the spinal cord. At the lower end of the hollow canal is what the Yogis call the "Lotus of the Kundalini". They describe it as triangular in form in which, in the symbolical language of the Yogis, there is a power called the Kundalini, coiled up.

When that Kundalini awakes, it tries to force a passage through this hollow canal, and as it rises step by step, as it were, layer after layer of the mind becomes open and all the different visions and wonderful powers come to the Yogi. When it reaches the brain, the Yogi is perfectly detached from the body and mind; the soul finds itself free.

We know that the spinal cord is composed in a peculiar manner. If we take the figure eight horizontally () there are two parts which are connected in the middle. Suppose you add eight after eight, piled one on top of the other, that will represent the spinal cord. The left is the Ida, the right Pingala, and that hollow canal which runs through the centre of the spinal cord is the Sushumna.

Where the spinal cord ends in some of the lumbar vertebrae, a fine fibre issues downwards, and the canal runs up even within that fibre, only much finer. The canal is closed at the lower end, which is situated near what is called the sacral plexus, which, according to modern physiology, is triangular in form. The different plexuses that have their centres in the spinal canal can very well stand for the different "lotuses" of the Yogi."

When Kundalini Shakti is conceived as a goddess, then, when it rises to the head, it unites itself with the Supreme Being (Lord Shiva). Then the aspirant becomes engrossed in deep meditation and infinite bliss

Kundalini can be awakened by shaktipat"spiritual transmission by a Guru or teacher"or by spiritual practices such as yoga or meditation. Sometimes Kundalini reportedly awakens spontaneously as the result of physical or psychological trauma, or even for no apparent reason.

When awakened, Kundalini is said to rise up from the muladhara chakra through the central nadi, the sushumna, inside or alongside the spine and reaching the top of the head. The progress of Kundalini through the different chakras leads to different levels of awakening and mystical experience, until Kundalini finally reaches the top of the head, Sahasrara or crown chakra, producing an extremely profound mystical experience

There are two broad approaches to Kundalini awakening: active and passive. The active approach involves systematic physical exercises and techniques of concentration, visualization, pranayama (breath practice) and meditation under the guidance of a competent teacher. These techniques come from any of the four main branches of yoga, and some forms of yoga, such as Kriya yoga, Kundalini yoga and Sahaja yoga emphasize Kundalini techniques.

The passive approach is instead a path of surrender where one lets go of all the impediments to the awakening rather than trying to actively awaken Kundalini. A chief part of the passive approach is shaktipat where one individual's Kundalini is awakened by another who already has the experience. Shaktipat only raises Kundalini temporarily but gives the student an experience to use as a basis.

I suppose this last is what happened last night, with Bhairavi, the teacher, awakening Rudra's Kundalini, and the 7 chakras as well. She must have been helped in this by the enormous trauma he has suffered so recently.

It was such a wonderful audio-visual treat; I loved the Kucch bhi na kaho and the slokas that were chanted, and the ceremony itself was all the more inspiring for being conducted by just one person for just one other person. It was such a relief to get Rudra back in this punar janma, and looking inwardly focussed, serene and untroubled. And in black!!!😉
