My dear Santhi,
Thank you for your unfailing moral support!
As for Shiva letting Katharine go, under the circumstances, it was unavoidable, but he should never have let it get to this point by bringing Charles there. Rao and the DM would have been ok. As it is, while Charles has placed a gag order on Katharine, there is no certainty it will work, and in any case, Shiva could hardly have counted on Charles imposing that ban on her.
What was incomprehensible was his sanguine comment that Katharine would not tell anyone, not even Charles, and this just because she is a
garuda😡.
Firstly, it is pure folly, this kind of over confidence, that too when the whole future of their mission hinges on Shiva's hideout remaining hidden (don't ever question how he ever thought it would stay that way given the ease of access to it! That is a mystery on par with how he ever carted all that stuff there, at a time when the Pandey
parivaar must have been in residence.) . How can keeping an eye on her help if she goes up to Greyerson and spills the beans?
In this context, I am reminded of another mysterious comment Shivanand makes when Rao asks him to keep an eye on Katharine in the Brahma Nisht Panth. He says that he has
ek aur wajah (ie apart from ascertaining whether she is a
garuda or an enemy of the
garudas) for doing that. It has not been clarified subsequently what that
wajah is.
Of course Katharine will keep her mouth shut re: Greyerson, and it will be interesting to see what story she cooks up to explain her not taking his calls. I am beginning to feel that
Katharine has her own agenda independent of the Greyerson one, and that she will use the skills that she has gained thanks to the training he got her, plus her own strengths as a
garuda, to promote that agenda.
It is now up to Shiva & Co. to penetrate that agenda of hers, and convince her that it can be meshed with theirs. Also that she can best help them by staying on in the Greyerson camp as a
garuda mole.
Yes, Rudra was at his best so far, linguistically speaking, in that scene near the boat. and Gautam was very good too. Not quite Saras yet, but a good try nevertheless! But the two bits I have mentioned were the most subtle and striking.
Ganga is a confusing character, what with her 24 sweaters and her wandering around, unmindful both of the danger you have pointed out and of the refuge (yes, her
saasuma will be there too, but surely she must be used to her!😉) that is ready at hand in that haystack of a Brahma Nisht Panth tent. One presumes that the
kalpavaasis are not allergic to straw dust!😉

Great post as usual.
I am looking forward to this week. Rudra-maya romance seems to be over in the sense that the scenes are over.
This week it's going to be drama I guess.
I think Shivanand could not do much other than letting Katherine go. He did say that he has to keep an eye on them. May be some plan of his?
I felt Rudra's lines to Maya near the boat very different. There was almost like a transformation in him.
The pitch was low and calm. Very refined. Is it due to his contact with dadi n baba. Or the relief of getting near Maya?
Ganga seems to be hiding from the world but also unmindful that Srisanth panthis can run into her anytime. Last Kumbh was not Mahakumbh. While this one is. She sure knows the significance of this one.
I am glad Punnu is back in the mix.
