Agreed that Rudra's heart rules his brain. Shiva is all brains only. . What does this say about Shivanand - is he above worldly attachments, or is he insensitive? As Santhi said, once his wife comes into the picture we will know maybe. Which reminds me that Daadi said that she went missing, but surprisingly Rudra also is not making an attempt to find out about her. Remember how he searched and brought Udiya baba's wife.
Unless Shivanand is able to help Rudra overcome his emotions nothing can be done.
How will Rudra overcome all these emotions he is going through and who will help him? For starters, Maya. That is why we are being thrust with their romance now.(saw the promo). So that he can overcome one Maya. Today Rudra was like me a dhakkan. Shiva is telling him to look beyond the Maya of this world, and he goes Maya is the only truth! 😊

Now the good guys and the bad guys need Maya back. Interesting na. Shivanand will need her to get Rudra out of his moh and starting focusing on the mission. Daadi also will need Maya to keep Rudra away from Shivanand's mission. The Veshes need her to help them control Rudra.

Since Rudra saw Katherine's Garud Chinh in his mind, she is not fake. But a danger to the Garuds as of now.

@Parumathirsa thanks a lot for putting that shloka in full. Though I knew it is from BG was not sure which chapter. Shiva told the theory that a bird need not be told how to fly. He needs to understand that his son will come around. Forcing him to focus will not yield any results. When he closed his eyes those haunting memories in front of him, the brutal losses was more than he could take. I felt it to be exactly like Harry's scar burning in Harry Potter. And it is better Shiva stays away from putting any antagonizing remarks against Maya. He is driving Rudra straight into Dadi's arms completely reverse of what he wants. He needs to understand his son's feelings and respect them for what they are. Ignoring his feelings and putting the mission in front of him will do exactly what Dadi has done to Shiva. Ignoring his valid questions she went on with seva and mother-son was alienated.
Crux of the point is though Rudra only had tender feelings for Maya now each person in their own way is adding fuel to those feelings. Dadi by manipulating, Shiva by antagonizing and Maya herself by going away and they are strengthening. He is going more and more into the illusion than in the reality.
Coming to Charles. Actually I liked his cute scene with Dadu. The guy is caring, but his own way. Un like Rudra who is expressive, Charles is not expressive of his affections and he prefers that no one knows his affection for them. The way he gently keeps the pillow for his nanu and the way he goes to fight for his friend. He has quirky way of showing affection. The people who understand that quirky way will always find him by their side.
Why did Tapadiya Mai go out of the tent seeing Shiva. Is there any connection. That is my open question
Once again nice take Arshics but I guess you missed some finer points today.

My dear Arshi,

A beautiful summing up of last night's Episode 42. And I for one don't care if you missed any point, fine or not, for you give the broad picture with great skill, and if one looks too much into the details, it will become like a pointillist painting, which can be seen only from a distance!

You are like an enchantress who can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear (now I never understood this sow's ear business!), by dressing it up in such lovely lines like your two opening ones.👏 Though I must say that you have been quite fair re: Shivanand's dilemma of how to tackle this mopey character who has to be transmuted into the shreshtatam garuda, and fast! The 2013 Mahakumbh lasted for only 55 days, and at least 13/14 days must be over by now.

Now I am a pragmatist, for as a professional diplomat for the 38 years of my working life , I always looked out for the interest of our side. Thus my takes are always four square, and stand flat footed on the ground.

So last night I found Rudra disappointing, to put it mildly. There was a sense of unease as I contemplated this vague, aimless, clueless, disconsolate, moping 28 year old. Traumas might have been there, but the tough ones get over them and move on, especially as there is a great mission awaiting him, if he is to believe his baba.

I was more in despair than Shivanand when Rudra gazed with mild curiosity at Shivanand's celestial display, clung to his sole obsession these days, Maya, who he declares in not mithya but the greatest truth and, finally bolted (that to leaving the entrance open😡). He did not seem to understand that they are both talking of different things when referring to Maya.

Besides, Rudra, who, outside at the mela campgrounds, did not even ask his father where he had been held prisoner for 24 years, was barely interested in the fascinating display put up inside Shiva's lab. Anyone else would have peppered Shiva with questions, but not Rudra. He is still content to moon about his missing Maya.

In Shivanand's place I would have been tearing my hair and climbing the wall, but he merely sighs and takes a long look around his room. A real satthvik, this chap! But I do agree with you that the drill sergeant approach needs to be fine tuned for our Majnun.

Not that Shiva does not show his tenderly affectionate side when he describes to Rudra, in the mela grounds, how he had longed to meet his son again, knowing that when he did so, 24 saal ke ghaav ek kshan mein bhar jayenge. And he asks him ever so gently if he would help his father attain the goal he had been working for since 24 years. Rudra says yes, but then he behaves like a skittish colt which is afraid of the bridle.

This apart, the whole aashiqui track between Rudra and Maya looks highly artificial. He has suddenly fallen in love with her because Utkarsh has decided that he should be!😉 Gautam was excellent as the shy lover boy Saras, but with this Rudra, that would hardly be fitting. I do not know how long Rudra is going to look mopey or blank or both. It is getting to be boring.

Finally, how come this so-called secret hideaway of Shiva's has not yet been spotted by the opposition? They would do anything to get hold of his Garuda Positioning System. The way in which he, and then he and Rudra, clamber openly down the baodi at the Pandey residence is an open invitation to snoopers. Shiva's luck can hold out only for so long!

Some miscellany that might interest your readers.

The problem sector for the Project Ganga is sector 53, the one which was allocated to Professor Rao, an allocation that was ferociously opposed by Balivesh. Now , Prof. Rao tells the DM to organise that sector, and use the funds that will soon be available for the Project Ganga, for their own secret work in that sector. Which he proceeds to do, for when Shivanand calls him to check whether it was not Tiwari in the Brahma Nisht Panth tent, he is actually holding a meeting in Sector 53, in Daraganj.

That is also the sector about which Balivesh is pressurising Tiwari, to give it to the Sri Santh Panth. Before his conversation with Rudra, he was telling a sidekick to tell the DM that the permission was needed immediately, and if it was not forthcoming, he would go to the DM's office not with an anurodh, but with an aagnya!

Now Daraganj was the place where, the first time Shivanand was shown using it, last Monday, the Garuda Positioning System showed TWO garudas. Who were they? One might have been Tiwari, but the other? It is all fascinatingly complex, and one has to keep track of all these bits and pieces.

Re: our Kill Bill Katharine, I believe she is a Garuda, but what could be called a Dark Garuda for now, since one presumes she does not yet know that the elaborate sign on her lower back means something special. Also that Greyerson has not seen it, not even between a tank top and her jeans!😉

As and when she does get to learn all about that, she might turn, and become a garuda mole in the Greyerson camp. Right now, we had that ridiculous bit in the precap about Katharine apparently (I use the word as it might well turn out to be a red herring or hoax, as is often the case) trying to stab Shivanand from the back. I thought Greyerson wanted him back under his control?

As I noted somewhere above, the way in which she was sticking spycams into the straw of the roof and the walls was also very funny. They could fall out in a strong wind, or if a passing cow took a fancy to the straw and decided to brunch off it!😉😉

Lastly, one extra sawaal that has been bothering me, though it does not concern this episode.

Though Daadi casually informs Rudra that his mother was not in the ashram when the 'Veshes attacked it, and she did not know where she was now, he does not make the slightest move to try and trace her. And this is the same Rudra who tracked down Udiya Baba's wife as he lay dying, and brought her to him in time to ease his passing. What happened now. when his own mother is concerned?

Not just that, he does not pass on this info to his Baba either, who is thus left believing, courtesy Balivesh, that she was killed by the fire that raged thru their house during the attack. If he had had any idea of this, Shivanand would have left no stone unturned to locate her, with Sahadev's help

Incidentally, probably, for security reasons, Prof.Rao is being allowed no visitors but Tiwari and Shivanand. So Charles needed that doctor's coat and the stethescope to get in, and I bet that would work in most places any time!

@Shymaladi you are absolutely right. Maya is forced on him. I am telling naa he only had tender feelings for her. Now he is bombarded with Maya from everywhere. Jahan dekho Maya hain. His conscience in the form of Maimui, Dadi with her manipulating words, Shiva with his mission focus and Maya herself walking away. For me yesterday Rudra looked like a guy trapped in a glass house, wherever he turns he sees only one image on the wall. Maya😆

My dear Shruthi,

What a clever girl you are! That last line about the glass house is marvellous!👏

This apart, if Rudra does not stop sleepwalking all over the place -just look at him as he dawdles aimlessly all over the mela grounds - I shall start nodding thru the telecast myself. 😉 It is so soporific to watch him. As for Maya, where has she managed to vanish to that even Katharine cannot locate her?

One point that you had raised , about why Thappadiya Mai drops her glass on sighting Shiva and then leaves the room. I think it is because she senses the presence of a fellow garuda, but one far stronger than she is herself. For Shivanand is surely the second strongest of the 7.

Lastly, Shivanand says that though his GPS can locate them, only Rudra can identify the other garudas. Then how come he could not identify that Thappadiya Mai, Charles and Katharine were all garudas? Perhaps his spiritual battery is run down because of all this melancholia!😉

Shyamala, Shruthi,

Your comments on soporific Rudra are hilarious. And Rudra in a glass house - awesome !

As for Rudra not recognizing charles and thapariya Mai, I think he has to be consciously looking for them.

As Shruti says, abhi toh bas maya hi Maya nazar aaye dekhoon jidhar BHI ! Once he breaks that glass window, phir dikhega sab usko, jiske jahan jahan bhi secret tattoo hai, Rudra ki X-ray vision will find it!

As for Grerson not knowing Katherine is a garud, the man had shiva for 24 years in his qaid, but didn't bother to look on his head - I doubt if Katherine would take kindly to Grerson ogling at her kamariya - the girl can kill with a hair pin!
