Thank you so much for liking this one.
Of course we will have our differences! That is why I put in that disclaimer at the beginning of this post about other takes on the triangle.
My supplementary comments are in blue.

Shyamala ji,Great take as usual. But I do differ on few characters.Dadi-- She is sakt but she has some ground on which she based her anger towards Shiva. Loss of family, panth and everything can do that. Also, she asked Shiva to stop all this(very gently) but he went on.What baffles is that she took it to the other extreme where she is rubbing it on him in front of Rudra. But like Arshi said, people do behave like that when they are used to control things and they do not stay under control.
Not just that, Santhi. She is very aloof and cold even when she sees him for the first time after 24 years. And she does not ask him even once how he had fared during this period, and what had happened to him. One's children, especially when they are sons, often do not listen to their parents. But that does not mean that one distances oneself from them emotionally. I simply could not understand her behaviour.
Plus, she assumes the worst about Shiva, then and now, without allowing him to get a word in edgeways. I have discussed this too in this post, and will not repeat myself here.Rudra-- Rudra is going through multiple emotions and thought processes. The person who came to Prayag to find answers to Maimui and Udiya Baba's murders came into contact with his past. Initially, he was full of anger and vengeance. Then, he found his dadi and then baba. Anger n vengeance gave room to happiness and a sense of belonging. But he also came to know about the Srisanth panth and their atrocities. Again more anger and vengeance. Then came Maya's confession and knowledge of how she was manipulated. Room for sadness.More than anything else, the knowledge of him being a Garuda and having to play a huge role in the Mahakumbh is what is shocking for him.Rudra's thoughts are best captured in re-caps where he says 'ye hua, wo hua, phir ye hua aur phir wo hua'. mujhe sri santh Brahma Nisht panth ko punah-staapith karna hai, dadi aur baba ke beech ki dooriyan(i dont remember if he uses the words 'duur karna hai') etc. Uske saath bahut kuch 'ho raha hai'. And he has absolutely no control. He is just being swept away by the happenings. Except for a short period of control where he tried to understand Sri-santh panth and Maya and acted nice.
Where was this shown, Santhi? In one of the promos shown during the ad breaks? I seem to have missed it. It sounds like a good promo, an effort to summarise Rudra's main problem. But then, he has to try and hold on to something and try to orient himself. Thappadiya Mai or Shivanand could be good choices of supports for this purpose. But he seems content to mope about aimlessly and complain about the khalipan within him.Its natural for anyone to get lost or go blank about the future in these circumstances. Its like a stick being subjected to alternate compression and tension. He needs time to process this. Let him at least make a start with it, Santhi!I gave a long rope to Rudra for siding with dadi because they day before he laments that 'dadi ne abhi tak baba ko maaf nahi kiya'. He knows his baba is right but he knows dadi needs to be reigned in slowly.
I doubt it anyone can rein this Daadi in, slowly or otherwise. She will interpret everything that goes wrong with them and their Panth to Shivanand having called the wrath of the gods down upon them with his research into divine blessings.š It will be chit I win and pat you lose!
I can see that you intend to cut Rudra a lot of slack. So be it! I do feel quite so accommodating, but I do hope he starts moving in the right direction very soon, and not at 11:59 when the 'Veshes and the nagas are literally at his doorstep.š
In fact, as the Mahakumbh 2013 lasted for only 55 days, and we must be already around Day 12, there is not too much time for the garudas to dawdle around!Rudra-Maya --- Rudra has a soft corner for Maya from the beginning. He counted her as a friend and trusted her so much that he came with her to Prayag. Then doubted her. And those doubts turned false. And Maya's heart-felt confession and her departure brought a vacuum and pain. I think it doesn't have to be love at this point but its natural that you feel the importance of someone after they leave you. And you are left trying to understand the pain of separation.Shivanand-- Shivanand is cool guy. I agree fully with you on this. He has that serene smile that I love. My favorite character of the show. He knows Rudra looks up to him and is with him though he took dadi's side. Proved when Rudra looks at him for advice when dadi nominates him to carry the panth forward. He silently advices him to give it back to her. Or that's what I understood.
You were correct in your interpretation - he gives an almost imperceptible nod of assent to Rudra- and that is exactly what I had noted in this post as well, in the section about Shivanand. He is the most impressive of them all as of now.
