The story of MK is rich and rooted in our mythology and every day we get to recall and also

learn anew some aspect, gain some new gyan, and new perspective on stories of old times

One more aspect that I am going to be taking up today is that of re-incarnation, this is one dimension

that has been visible many a times, but never discussed in the context on MK, so this weekend post I

seriously and sincerely believe that we must talk about the fantastic re-incarnations that we have

witnessed in the story...

before you read further with your hearts filled with awe and admiration,

ke Arshi ne aisa kya dekha jo humne NAHI dekha,

Appukrish is to be blamed for this idea, not me...

And relax, weakened post hai, itna seriously mat lo...

The Reincarnates

1. Balivesh - balivesh, of course thanks to Appukrish, who started this,

we all will agree is an avatar of Guman Bai, a famous dancer,

and the evil step mother of Saraswatichandra

Guman, was driven by extreme hatred of her stepson

And had only one aim - to kill him and his lady love

This extremely suave and sophisticated lady was prone to fits of rage which were absolutely ugly

And was guilty of doing a horrendous dance of defeat

That was enough to kill anyone with a delicate constitution.

2. Dadi - she is of course a dual reincarnate of rip van winkle and sleeping beauty

Rip an winkle is obvious, sleeping beauty - well because she is a beauty and most

Important, she was brought back to life by hum sab ka Prince charming...

3. Maya - In a serious context she has been compared to Yogamaya, but then this is not a

Serious anything, and she is anyway over burdened with serious issues

, so let's not add another bojh of seriousness there...

She i feel is a reincarnate of red riding hood and the three little pigs all rolled into one...in this avatar

of course She huffs and she puffs and blows her own house down, at the insistence of the big bad

wolves who have eaten up the grandma - Maimui,,,,,

4. Shivanand is of course Rapunzel, who was locked up by the wicked witch

all because of that luxurious crop of hair,

( in this case of course there's also the tattoo under the hair), which the witch wants desperately

For in this avatar he does not have both - the hair and the tattoo...

and rescued too, thanks to that hair-

by the very same hum sab ka Prince charming

for it was to meet this Prince charming that shiva was brought to india and could escape

but basically it's all about the hair - the long and short of it...

5. Of course we also have our Alice in blunderland - apni towel sundari Katherine

with the queen thapariya mai, who in this avatar has changed her slogan from

'off with their heads' to narak ke Keere kutar kutar ke Khayenge'...

Who also is something of a mad hatter...

Please do also share your own ideas, of who's who in this janam from the MK characters..

And Njoy...

Good one Arshi :) I'd like to nominate Nanu for Gollum from Lord of the Rings: for hanging around in dark places, plotting evil schemes to get his hands on 'Precious' - the amrit of course- and always the epitome of selfishness! Totally loony type of disgusting creature... Mera beta ( the dead one) dharti par raj karega... (cackle)

Love TM as Queen of Hearts cum Mad Hatter...😆

Charles could be William from Just William, always getting into scrapes or maybe Dennis the Menace - all very retro 😛

Punnoo Tiwari for Frodo's loyal friend Sam

Nanu is perfect as Gollum - the slimy character with his obsession of the preciousss

Charles thinks of himself as Krishna kanhaiyya with all the gopis, but I agree he's quite a Dennis the menace

Poor Punnu Tiwari who made such a cute hanuman, had a short lived role which never really materilsed !

Maza aagaya Arshi. I really was laughing out loud.
Greyerson is like our bollywood comic villains who make such great plans which flop in the end. I can't remember the name of a villain, whose dialogue comes to mind, 'sara sheher mujhe lion ek naam se jaanta hai', the accent and style of speaking..

Arshi,

You are really a scream! Priceless, all of your reincarnates, my favourites being the RRH+3 Little Pigs, which is spot on, and Guman. The Balivesh tandav on Thursday, that too with a jelly belly quivering in tandem, made one feel queasy!

Now, I am not quite sure of Gollum for Naanu, for Gollum is a sneaky lowlife, whereas Naanu does not creep around, does he, he is there up front and centre, his quiet voice more menacing than a roar of anger. No, not Gollum. He is much more like a black wizard, perhaps Saruman from the Lord of the Rings.

What about Greyerson? I cannot think of anyone who would fit, and the same for the Cardinal. He was once compared to Voldemort but that is too much!

Now Prof. Rao might be Dumbledore, don't you think? Wise and all knowing and infinitely patient, and totally focussed on his mission.

Appu, your guman comment inspired it, dear!

That villian is Ajit, but the one who Grerson really copies is an old time black and white era villian called K N Singh.

I am sure the actor playing Grerson must have been asked to see his moves and emulate him!

Yes, now that he is the guru of both tiwari and shiva and in a sense even Charles, prof Rao might be Dumbledore.

Saruman - till he gave his delusional my son will come alive and rule the world speech, i thought he could be the all powerful black supremo - but he became a lot more mortal in my eyes after that!

Grerson, as I just aparna, reminds me of the old time villian K N Singh!

Cardinal - even I don't know! Can't think of a parallel.

Nanu may like to project himself as Saruman, but when you look below the surface he is Gollum through & through - Sneaky? check, Cheat? - check, Hiding himself and his true colours? Yes, yes, yes! He has no real powers, he gets what he wants by cunning manipulation and scheming 😛
