You are again right people watch out of curiosity. They won't bother for authenticity.

Right now I am watching Mahakali and even if I don't bother about actors I felt irritated on seeing Daruka's story . Can't help it.

Lakshmi

I dont think Khatushyam is a folk tale. People's faith develops when their prayers are fulfilled.
If that temple was of a non existing Deity then it would have got closed by now.

I read the discussions on Barbarika 's story that was mentioned in Skandha Purana . Eminent scholars participated in that and they concluded that nothing like Barbarika's head severed by Krishna happened. So since Mahabharat also did not give any reference to that I believed in that.

As mentioned earlier, Faith & Historic findings are 2 different things.
When faith is reciprocated by Deity a believer's faith strengths.

Hamare family tradition n hamare yaha ke local beliefs ke according Nav Durga Devi Parvati ke 9 forms hai jo unke different roop hai jo unhone Manushya se adi-shakti banane tak liye the?? but puranas me alag story hai ki she already knew about her true self ( aur mai use bhi manti hu but us bare me deep me knowledge nahi isiliye janana chahti hu) to mera yeh doubt hai koi janta hai Devi durga ke Nav rupo aur unke utapanaa hone ka karan or katha ko according to purana?? jaisa we all know sati ke nau roop nahi the sirf devi parvati ke the to aisa kyu?? Adi shakti 10 maha vidyaao me vibhajit hai kya usse link hai yeh?? aur Mata Pravati ke 10 Maha-vidyaao aur Nav durga ke alawa bhi roop hai to unki stories ke bare me koi mujhe bata sakta hai kya please???

I1.) Sailaputri(Daughter of the Himlayas)

2.) Brahmachri (One who observes the state of celibacy doing penance)
3.) Chandragha ( One who bears the moon in her necklace )
4.) Kma (the creator of the universe)
5.) Skanda-Mt (The mother of Skanda, Krttikeya, born out of her powers)
6.) Ktyyan (The daughter of sage Ktyyana, who incarnated to help the Devas)
7.) Klartr (black as night, destroyer of Kl)
8.) Mahgaur (the wife of Lord Shiva, doing great penance)
9.) Siddhidtr (Provider of Siddhis, giver of mystic powers)

The following nine names have been told (Devi Mahatyam Devi Kavacham) by the Great Soul Brahma-deva Himself. Durg is known by these names:

These are the nine forms of Durga as told in Devi Kavacham from Devi mahatmyam. Brahma praises thus.

If you observe the first form is Saila Putri. Parvati is first Saila Putri. The daughter of the mountain .

Second form is Brahma charini. Parvati observes celibacy when she did penance to please Shiva.

Third is Chandra ghanta who bears the moon in her forehead .This happens after she becomes the consort of Siva. By then she completed her penance and attained the full yogic power that made her hold the super power that is Prakriti in reality.

If we observe nava durgas indicate the journey of Parvati begining with being the daughter of mountain king.

To be continued.

Thankyou Lakshmi di...

Same is written in our local beliefs.. Means both define the same

As u said Nav Durgas indicate the journey of Parvati beginning with being the daughter of Mountain king to Almighty Devi Adi-Parashakti which start form Shailputri and end on Siddhidatri Maa... Means we all know sati did not perform penance that's why she doesn't have Nau forms cause she doesn't start the journey.. she is called Dakhshayini only and the Das Mahavidaayein of Adi-shakti are different...

I also wanna ask about Dhoomavati.. As I knew that is one form Das Mahavidyaa but I read different stories about her.. some said sati has taken form of dhoomavati after gulping Lord Shiva and some said Devi Parvati and in DKDM they showed some different story.. which one is true n when Adi-shakti takes Dhoomavati form??

There are different versions about Dhumavati Devi. Devi Bhagawat Puran says the Dasa Maha vidyas are created by Durga to participate in wars against demons.

In other places she is associated with Sati who appears in ten forms before Siva . In Tantric tests Dhumavathi is described to have arisen from the smoke created when Sati immolated herself.

So it is for us to chose which version we want to believe.

But one thing is certain. Dhumavathi is a very powerful goddess who could relieve from troubles

.Dhumavati is described as a giver of siddhis (supernatural powers), a rescuer from all troubles, and a granter of all desires and rewards, including ultimate knowledge and moksha (salvation). Her worship is also prescribed for those who wish to defeat their foes

Even married couples worship her. Although she has very few dedicated temples, her worship by Tantric ritual continues in private in secluded places like cremation grounds and forests.

Dhumavathi Kavacham if recited eleven times for forty days then ,severe financial troubles will be averted. These days the worship of Dhumavathi is not restricted only to tantrik people.

I heard Pandits suggesting chant of Dhumavathi Kavacham to get rid of any kind of serious troubles.

I hope I am able to convey some information regarding Dhumavathi, who is the seventh mahavidya.

PS; I will continue with the nava durgas after a while. Busy with Krishna worship temple visit since last night. Only my Devi Mahatmyam I updated hurriedly.

Kushmanda

When this universe was non-existent and darkness prevailed everywhere, it was Maa Kushmaandaa who produced the Cosmic Egg with her mere smile. So Maa Kushmanda is also known as the creator of the whole universe.

Maa Kushmanda is also named as "Adi Shakti. She is the only one who has the power and strength to live in the core of Suryaloka. Her body shines like the glowing Sun Parvati as Kushmanda has the power and capability to live inside the Sun. The glow and radiance of her body is as luminous as that of the Sun.

Mother Kushmaandaa is the bestower of all pleasures. Her adoration and worship delivers a person from all kinds of ailments and leads the person on to the path of prosperity and pleasures. .

By this phase Mata Parvati is aware of her all round powers as Adisakti and thus this form explains how as Adi Sakti she became the source of creation.

Hence Parvati here identifies with her source energy and called Kushmanda.
