@ Lakshmi, that's why all Asuras meeting, helping each other can be accepted.

Rishis may live longer due to power of Yoga & their penance.

Penance of 3-4000, years must be common.

Rishi Durvasa & Parashuram had taught Shree Vidya to Ashwathama, which helped him in surviving for 3000 years of Krishna's curse. He will be one of the Sapta rishis, through this Vidya's penance.

I agree with your reasoning. Having said that I really hold Ved Vyas in high esteem. Ved Vyas has this unique skill to write that what is important to the point. Otherwise he wouldn't have wrote MBH and other epics in such a detailed yet brief way.

His Devi Mahatmyam precisely unveils Devi's power to singlehandedly crush the asuras with the help of her own manifestations Kali,Mattrikas etc.

If we read the events the flow and the connection of chapters looks just perfect. Ved Vyas mentioned the demons who were sent by Sumbha to tackle Devi. If it really is needed He would have included Daruka also in the process. He did not..so there lies the truth.

I feel our modern writers develop the story in the lines of a movie story. A heroine desired by villian who engages goons and finally meets with death.

So Utkarsh mainly concentrates on heroine Parvati..villian Sumbha in between he will write the events as per his wish.

Even in dkdm tarakasur existed for a very long time. He kept on sending various asuras. They are following the same trend.

Every puran depicts same story with some change keeping main deity as important one. One can not take a particular puran as standard. Ved vyas himself writes varing interpretations in different puranas.

Tarakasur probably had a long span because of the boon he got from Shiv. He will be killed only by Siva's son. So his story stretched from Sati phase to Parvati phase.In between it is very much acceptable if they showed him sending asuras.

Here it is different. There is no reason why Shumbh Nisumbh stay back after the deaths of Raktabija,Chanda Munda etc.

I agree there are different versions of Vyasa's stories . But generally what we do is to take that story that elevated the deity to the maximum level. For instance if we want Krishna's story we chose Mahabhagawat but not Mahabharat which is Kuru centric. Having said that we can not take away the most valuable part related to Krishna ,Gita and Kurukshetra war from MBH.

So generally when we read about Devi,we consider Devi mahatmyam followed by Devi Bhagawat Puran. Devi's glory is highly eexplored,praised there.

I would have had no problem if they showed some other asuras not related to Jyothirlinga story. But using Daruka here certainly is a cause of concern for me.

Atleast DKDM did not play with Jyotirlinga charecters as per their wish.

I pray to Nageswar Mahadev to grace those who attempt such false interpretations.

Minakshi you and me we read we know what is there in our puranas. But the next generation won't have that much time and interest to know our real culture the treasure of our Vedas,Epics...

Visual medium is the most powerful medium. It influences. I am not worried for myself. I am worried for my daughter,my students who will grow up watching these wrong interpretations. If it is OS fan fictions we have the liberty to write our own story. But in the name of making a Mytho serial if the facts are distorted there will be damage . We should pass our cultural treasure to next generation .There lies our challenge.

We are viewers. A disclaimer is shown before show starts. Which says, this show is based on devi kaali's different stories.

Viewers can eirher accept or reject. Its thier channel, their show.

Never bother about next generation. In fact if something interests thrm rhey may try yo know more by referring other sources. Will learnd and understand deeply. Internet provides many books online. We had to physically buy the puranas and read. For them puranas are just a click away. Things are not that bad. 😊

Let them bring all asuras. Ultimately they are kaal's grasa.

Even in mb, when barbareek' head was asked about what he saw in battle field. His answer was, he saw mahakaali devouring most. Where as arjun and others were fighting.

Different minds, different understandings. Its the game of mind.

You know why I am scared of Utkarsh Nathani? He changed the concept of Jyotirling. Mahadev only can establish his Jyotirling which is very powerful. We have dwadasa Jyotirling 12 that are established with Mahadev's consent by himself. So many Shiv lingas are established all over India but Jyotirlingas are special because Shiva's Agni in the form of Jyoti exists in that.

Utkarsh had the audacity to change the story of Kedareswar Jyotirling in Surya Putr.

As per the legend Pandavas at the time of their mahaprasthan requested Siva to establish himself there and Shiv obliges and Kedareswar is established.

But in SPK they showed Yudhishtir place a shiv ling and call it Kedareswar.

Any way I am too much into these details and can't enjoy the way they show. Hence sticking to written updates. Watching Puja's parts .Better for me.

By the way Barbarik did not exist in MBH. BORI also did not have his story

There is Khatushuyam temple in Rajasthan. Where Barbareek's head is worshipped by Krishna's boon.

Faith & Historic facts are 2 different things. Even if Bori denies existance of Barbareek during MB times, devotee's faith, temple's story states a different version.

Some claim as per research done in Bengal, Radha is a fiction character. But ask any RK devotee, they'll say Radha is as much alive as Krishna.

If concentration is more on story & actors, there will be disappointment at times.

People watch the show out of Faith & curiosity. Some change in story doesnt matter much for them. It's better to remember good pts & forget the rest.

Yes Minakshi I understand. People get influenced by folk tales. But there lies the difference between them and us who read the books. So we may not be effected even if we see temples for non existing chs. That is a fact.

You are again right people watch out of curiosity. They won't bother for authenticity.

Right now I am watching Mahakali and even if I don't bother about actors I felt irritated on seeing Daruka's story . Can't help it.

^^ Isn't the idea creative liberty? I mean, there are different stories, versions, etc, and all shows/books are basically amalgamations, right? I just don't want them to demean any of the Gods and Goddesses. 😳 I agree with you, there are a lot of distortions, but as long as they don't make a mockery of the Gods/Goddesses, I can withstand it
