i would love to read duryodhan-bhanumati story and they are husband-wife in real
Most of the folklores have Duryodhan as a great husband at least to Bhanumati (I think his first wife didn't bear him a child or was a mother to only daughters so she could never become his favourite. Bhanumati was the chief queen despite being the second wife)
Oriya Mahabharatha has that though Duryodhan uabducted her, he never forced her to marry. This would definitely not mean that he never kept her as a wife officially because else others like Bheeshm or even Dhritrashtra wouldn't have allowed her to stay at Hastinapur. So I take this statement as Duryodhan gave her time and never forced her to consummate the marriage until she was ready for it. (A good gesture for husbands of that era)
PinAnyhow so this folklore love story is that Duryodhan visits Kalinga for the Swayamwar of Bhanumati along with Karna. As she comes to the hall, Duryodhan is mesmerized and starts looking him without batting an eyelid. Karna notices this and says that Duryodhan is completely into the girl since he didn't react in this way even after seeing Draupadi who was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Anyhow so Bhanumati comes to dias and passes them without selecting Duryodhan. Duryodhan is heartbroken and looks completely disheartened. Seeing this Karna asks him to do the Haran of Bhanumati. Duryodhan is slightly reluctant but Karna reminds him that abduction of princess from Swayamwar isn't wrong since his Pitamah Bheeshm had done the same.
Duryodhan agrees and catches hold of Bhanumati announcing that she is henceforth his. The other kings and the royal family of Kalinga try to stop them, but they defeat everyone (obviously mostly Karna) meanwhile Bhanumati's friend Supriya tries to save her, Karna abducts her too to save time.
On reaching Hastinapur Duryodhan promises Bhanumati to not have a forced marriage with her since he really loves her and had abducted her only because he couldn't bear her not being his but would no longer do a thing which causes displeasure to her.
Meanwhile Supriya has fallen for Karna(I guess Stockholm Syndrome) Bhanumati is completely not interested in Duryodhan. But Duryodhan continues to woo her for months.
Finally Bhanumati agrees for marriage with two clauses. First that Duryodhan wouldn't marry henceforth and she would remain his last wife. Duryodhan easily agrees to it and secondly he would have to convince Karna to marry Supriya.
Now Karna was already married by then and wasn't interested in Supriya at all, but Duryodhan now shifts the focus of his convincing towards Karna. For months he tries to convince Karna, gives him swears for their friendship. Finally seeing that Duryodhan is completely smitten and nothing could take him away, Karna agrees for the marriage.
Finally both the couples have their marriage on the same day
