Logically speaking, this is the only thing possible.

Ashwatthama attacks uttara the day after the war. So on 19th day.

But Krishna does his miracle, several months later.

So did the baby die immediately after the attack and uttara was carrying a corpse for 10 months that Krishna revives.

Or the baby does not die even after the attack but dies only after it is born. Then Krishna revives it.

Or the astra remains in suspension in the womb till the child is born and then attacks it.

Why doesnt Krishna act immediately on the day uttara is attacked. Whatever miracle needed to be done would make sense if it is done on the day of attack not 10 months later

I dont believe anybody in the epic at that point knew Uttara will have a son.

Most likely aahwatthama went after her and attacked her and she miscarried. The baby died.

The goal was total annihiliation of kurus. Atleast whoeever could be killed without any suspicions falling on them

I seriously believe Krishna brought another infant as heir and produced him infront of everyone as parikshit. Pandavas simply accepted it quietly.

So according to you Parikshit wasn't Abhimanyu's son? Why would Pandavas accept him especially when they had heirs in form of Uppandavas sons. Yadavs couldn't have compelled them especially not till Arjun was with them

To be honest Ashwathama so easily reaching out to Uttara n killing the baby itself looks difficult to me

Baby was stillborn, and they just blamed it on him. When calamity happens, human tendency is to look for a scapegoat.

Pandavas I dont think were in a position to do anything.

Did Pandavas have the capability to win against Yadavas and Krishna in an all out war if it came to that.

Were they in a position to protect their grandchildren from Krishna, if he decided to kill them.

Wouldnt it be obvious to them that when they were not able to save their sons and panchalas, who were killed right just a few kms away from them. They will not be able to save their grandchildren if Yadaavas were not allowed to have their way.

Because what other need was to appoint Parikshit as King, if not compromise with yadaavs. Specially if Prativindhya Son or Yaudheya or his son was alive.

Obviously Krishna wasn't a medicinal practitioner

He might have had his Vaidyas who would have some saved the kid in the womb, but it was very week so as it came out, survival was difficult hence again medicinal support added

They couldn't save Uppandavas or Panchals because till then they blindly believed the Yadavs. If your assumption is true then Krishna would have actually indirectly blackmailed Pandavas post that it wasn't the same situation.

Weren't Pandavas and Arjun capable to defeat entire armies? Yadavas were not as powerful as we think, Satyaki would have been killed by Bhurisrava had it not been for Arjun, I agree Krishna as a Charioteer was a great support, but the actual war miracles were done by Arjun. He entered the Kamalvyuh on day 14 and killed Jaidrath.

They were capable to do Ashwamedh within days of the war and were successful at it

I don't think Krishnaji could have compelled them to do anything

Yes that makes sense.

On the topic what do you think the eternal wound to Ashwathama could be.

I am sure it wasn't some physical wound because that would be healed, I think he was either made a slave or was kept in captivity to be beaten/wounded regularly

Else probably they made him do menial jobs(taking away from him the gem of Brahmintva and making him a Shudra) and stopped admitting him a Brahmin

Yadavas were dead and so was Krishna by the time Parikshit was appointed king.

Sometimes things happen with no reason.

Off topic: my phone keeps correcting yadavas to cassavas😆

If Krishna was Ghora's student, then he likely knew basic medicine as it was. Angirasas composed Atharva Veda IIRC.

😆 I know. I know. Nothing in the text suggests he knew CPR. Just feeling Narada-esque and wanting to start an argument.

Parikshit was crowned as successor quite early if I am not mistaken.

Parikshit over Prativindhya's son is something that bothers me as well though.

Could it be that Prativindhya's son was given some other land bigger than Hastinapur
