Names of Karna 😊

Vasusena - His original name, being born with wealth (i.e., earrings and natural armor)
Radheya - because he is the adopted son of Radha, who nurtured him as her own son
Karna - The cutter or peeler of his own cover (Natural Armor)
Vaikartana - because he had cut his natural armor and earrings and gave it to Indra
Vrisha - Devoted to Brahmanas, truthful in speech, engaged in penances, observant of vows, kind even unto foes. Vrisha also means bull, and Karna was a bull among warriors

Karna is also known as

Angaraj - one who ruled the kingdom of Anga
Mrityunjaya - one who conquered Death
Rashmirathi - one who is riding the chariot of Light
Daanveer - for his undying charitable nature
Daanshoor - one who fought and died like a true warrior

No figure in the Dwapar Yuga, much less the Mahabharata, is as controversial or as polarizing as the first son of Kunti. His struggle through life began as an infant - abandoned by his mother, terrified of the opprobrium that would follow had it been known that she had a son out of wedlock. From then on, his life was a struggle - adopted by a charioteer, ignored by his mother, humiliated by his brothers and insulted by his elders. By the time the truth about himself was revealed to him, there was no turning back.

Despite all that, he did his utmost to live a righteous life - being extremely generous, courageous & loyal. Unfortunately, the course of events forced him to ally w/ the forces of adharma, much to his own disgust.

Nonetheless, he lived - and died through it all, and carved himself an eternal place in history. After his death, he finally received the love & respect he always craved.

ok its last episode.. i could see nostalgic comments... ok bear with mine long one...😆 ...

I will miss this place so much definately..😭..When I came to this place.. I never thought I will be attached to it.. so much😲..that it left my IPK obsession behind😆.I remember diala from the time i posted in this place at first place...I think the reason people love you so much diala is the fact that you are very well recieving to all.. 😊... will surely be in touch with you thru FC and FB ofcourse... I remember candid being very active in the starting threads.. I used to really admire her love for Karna.. She is not that active now though.. Then made friends with Sayanee and Panchu.. I remember reading their posts silently at times.. and admiring their open minded approach to things and their giving a totally different perspective to things...I became more open minded coz of them... I saw epic from different view through their posts.. Then there were few like Gargi and Mishti who loved Karna so dearly..that it really made me wonder and I also felt proud of that fact.. Their creations always reflected their passion for Karna..and I didnt know they were such huge fans of Aham too...very talented girls.. and ofcourse like Sayanee and panchu, these girls too helped me in broadening my perspective with their different takes...

All this while... there was this member who used to first keep posting war citations of Karna in between😆..Thank you watcher for all that effort in bringing citations to notice.. I really commend your dedication in defending Karna in all threads..I remember whenever there used to be a post against Karna...me n diala ma in PM would be discussing whether we should respond or not...then diala ma would say confidently ..Watcher will do ..dont worry😆.. I think only contender with you for defending Karna would be Sabhyata.. She has tremendous amount of patience especially repeating stuff each time in each thread...Oh and Sabhyata I cant thank you enough coz i took your citations reference many times...splly that conversation of karna-krishna..i bookmarked it and referenced that in many of threads..😆

Vrish - you have amazing store house of knowledge.. a full encyclopedia of Mahabharat.. I learnt so much from your posts.. and you always chose interesting poll options here... loved it..😊.. and I also admire your love for Bheem.. Nandini - you joined our AT late but you mixed up with all of us so soon that it always feels like you were a part of this place from the very start... Nandini and Diala ma are only two people who consistently like all posts in this place😆

We recently had many new members in the family like Jamy and Vani.. Jamy I love your knowledgeable posts and you have quite inherent sarcastic way of saying things...😳😉

Actually, there is no need to start nagging him, he is only the TM after all isn't he?, as far as I know Mods have allowed for the AT's, if Vrish doesn't wanna make Diala can make it, we can take the necessary permissions from the DT. I dont think Vrish will have any problem if majority of us tell him to keep running the AT's.

The AT can continue if everyone want it to be. TM's can change if need be.

KMG has a special passage at the end of Karna Parva. This passage is not present in Bhishma or Drona parva. The passage tells what will be attained after reciting Karna parva.

"..The learned say that the holy and the eternal Vishnu is Sacrifice, and each of those other gods, viz., Agni, Wind, Soma, and Surya, is so. Therefore, he that will, without malice, hear or recite this Parvan, will be happy and capable of attaining to every region of bliss. Filled with devotion, men always read this sacred and first of Samhitas. They that do, rejoice, obtaining wealth, and grain, and fame. A man must, therefore, ever hear it without malice. He that does so will obtain all kinds of happiness. With that foremost of persons, Vishnu, and the illustrious Self-born, and Bhava also, become pleased. A Brahmana, by reading it, would obtain the fruit of having studied the Vedas; a Kshatriya obtains strength and victory in battle; Vaishyas would obtain immense wealth, and Shudras would obtain health and freedom from disease. Then again the illustrious Vishnu is eternal. And since it is that god who hath been glorified in this Parvan, it is for this that the man reading or hearing it becometh happy and acquireth all the objects of his heart. These words of the great Rishi (Vyasa) can never the untrue! The merit that may be attained by listening to the recitation of the Karna Parvan is equal to his who giveth away unceasingly for a whole year good cows with calves..."

Now its time for my nostalgic note:-

I have joined IF mainly for writing...

I just loved to write on my favorite characters.

In my previous forum I was a writer only never a regular AT member.

I always have a big passion for history and myths and I try to find out the logic beneath the myths..

Though I am not a very religious person , but I am very much spiritual, that's why after loving the serial Devon Ke Dev Mahadev also I stayed away from the discussion forum

I only used to comment on creations...

In Mahabharat forum also I started doing the same, commenting on creations only..

Then one day I read a post made by Sravss. I forgot the whole content, but the theme was like that, "She just can't stop loving Karna, in spite of every thing"...

There I wrote my very 1st post in this forum..I said to her, "you should feel proud that you love Karna".. and my journey towards the Mahabharat forum just began😊

There I met haters, fought with them, defended my hero and right after that Candidfriesky PM ed me Nadini's thread on Karna, and I posted there too..but that thread was closed right after my post..😆

It is a wonderful journey with Karna and Karnalis. Karnalas

I have many favorite character in MB apart from Karna...one of them is Draupadi..but I never visited the AT because here I saw that Karna is still the outcast guy..so I chose to stay with him only..only with my hero...

and throughout this journey met with wonderful people..

There were no AT for Karna at the beginning, we all Karnalis and Karnalas together fought just like our hero did once..

And the gift is the AT of Manav Sresth Mritunjayi..😃

The girl who have never become a part of any AT till date, fought for an AT..

This journey made me mentally very strong and also made me realize that how much I love Karna...

Oh Mritunjayi Manavsreth thankz for everything...

I feel now, I was destined to make that post on Karna that day...😃

Voted for the second option. Nothing can rationalize Karna's murder but it was necessary to win the war. In my eyes, he did no big mistakes that can never be forgiven or that can be punished only with death.

Diala di, my personal opinion is that Karna got liberated finally and he was blessed to see the Virat Roopa. I believe that Vishnu/Krishna wanted an end to his suffering. I'm saying this as I've read many instances where a person who finally gets liberated will have his last life very struggling which is true about Karna. I don't know whether it is there in the original text as I've not read at least a single Sanskrit version of MB. One thing I can say with the confidence of being a Sanskrit student that one reason for many version of a single book to exist is favouritism though there are a handful of other reasons too. It has happened with almost all Sanskrit books. I suspect favouritism whenever I see a riddle that can't be solved soon or a sudden ambiguous contradiction. This is only my guess. I don't have any citations. I trust in intuitions than citations. In a short span of 100 years, if the British can make Indians believe that all our Vedic culture reached India from some wandering ancestors linked to Europe, anything is possible with a 2000 year old book.

People Please don't throw tamatars at me. It will only empty your purse😆. I wanted to hurt no sentiments.
