Am I the odd one out here? I actually liked the episode today

1. Loved the Krishna gyan to Drona. Moh vs prem is Vasudev's favorite topic for discourse but as a kaliyugi, I don't mind hearing it again. Maybe, it will finally sink in :)

2. The symbolic 'tie' in Govind's hand that was finally cremated with Drona. The 'ties' that bound Drona to life- his son and Kuru clan were finally liberated.

3. The Pandavs paying homage to their guru specially Arjun's flashbacks and dialogues.

4. Riya Deepsi's acting. She has come a long way since the first few episodes. Now, she needs some gyan about being a real pativrata and dharma. Blindfolding onself is certainly not in the interest of a blind husband so she needs to get this misconception cleared. Will Krishna do that too?

Are we going to see the Duryodhan loin cloth track now? Also an interpolation but I wouldn't mind seeing it...Krishna with his new tricks again.

Overall, a much better episode (for me) today

I even liked gandhari bit! I could not understand karna expression as camera was focussing repeatedly on him? was there some sort of connection which I missed or it was general roll pf camera? surprisingly starashwi didn't do any drama at the funeral? I was hoping for one because of starbharat pattern. though I am thankful that nothing happened. what was precap? drau weeping? what the hell? btw am I the only one who felt bad that nobody paid any heed to our drupad umcle?

Apparently the Kavach is something like Patronus charm. His mind was unnerved and he couldn't concentrate after hearing of Ashwathama's death so the Kavach grew ineffective.

I think it was the Dron actor that spoilt it for me. The swooning, the eye liner, the hamming, the ballet like gestures. I have come to expect the best out of the MB cast, I suppose, even with the much disliked characters like Dhrith and Shakuni

Any time SRJ gets to speak I like to hear. You are right, the prem vs moh was good. Plus, he seems to be getting better looking😆

I actually liked today's episode. Although it was a bit melodramatic and a lot of unnecessary "fluff" was added to the story, I liked the message Krishna was delivering to Drona. In the actual story, Drona does flare up after hearing about Ashvatthama's death from Yudhisthira. He does not immediately give up his weapons. In fact, he gets so angry and is ready to destroy the whole battlefield when the sapta rishis appear in front of him and condemn him for all the sins he committed. Reminded of all the adharma he had done in the past, Drona decides to give up his weapons and life in the battlefield. Doing pranayamam, he gives up his life right before Dhristadyumna beheads him, though it seems to everyone else that Dhristadyumna had actually killed him.

Here in Starbharat, it's Krishna who gives "updesh" to Dronacharya instead of the sapta rishis, and instead of criticizing him about his sinful deeds, he criticizes his parenting. So there is distortion, but Krishna's message was good too. The only thing is that it would apply more to Dhritarastra than Drona, since Drona from the epic was not such a bad parent.
