I dont think he existed, even if he did, Yudisthira would have been the one who would have gone emotional and maybe make him the King too.

Perhaps because he was born of a lower caste woman. That's why he was never a candidate.

I read that Vrishaketu was offered the Indraprastha throne after the war...any reliable citations regarding this?

we truly don't know caste of Karna's wife..some says suta, some sources say upper caste like kstriya

In Bengali Mahabharat Karna had only one wife Padmavati, and four sons

Vrishketu is not there

As Rehanism mentioned - Maybe he was not offered the throne since he was of a lower caste.

But seeing how Yudi wept after Karna's Death, he would have done something for him.

Well, we can celebrate not just Karna, but other characters of Aham as well, such as Dr Ajay in Shapath.

Incidentally, congratulations on #14. I do think he was real, but have mixed opinions on him joining the Pandavas. It's good that he reconciled, but he should have done something other than accompany Arjun on the Ashwamedha yagna. If anything, he should have kept his distance from Arjun, but been okay w/ the rest of the family
