Alright I'll post their conversation.

That conversation clarifies that him siding with the Kauravas wasn't a misguided sense of dharma as claimed by many.

I share a similar opinion. One's own dharma becomes adharma if it doesn't allow them to avoid an immoral conduct when they are capable enough to avoid it. It's said that the one who tolerates an ill happening is guilty along with the ones who accomplish it.

I guess it might be actually the same with Tamas being more milder. A lot of people interpret Krishna's act of breaking his vow and picking up a weapon against Bheeshma as 1. As a matter of respect for Bheeshma (highlighting the high soul that he was) 2. To show that vows should not be set in stone and if need be have to be broken.

I would choose 2 options - One, he broke it to make Arjuna realize that he is still holding himself back.

Two, He wanted to in-directly tell Bhishma that - No Vow is bigger than Dharma, hence rectifying Bhishma's mistake of not protesting during the VH.

In KMG - I have not yet found a citation which says that he broke his vow only to keep Bhishma's words.

I never claimed that he broke his vow only to keep Bhishma's words. Though I haven't read that part in detail (in KMG), SB clearly states that a reason of breaking his vow was to make Bhishma's words come true. He wanted to witness the beauty of lord while he breaks his vow and rushes to protect his devotee. And he described the lord's beauty in his prayers.
Even the KMG citation clarifies that Bhishma was overjoyed at the respect lord paid to him.

Since Bhishma didn't keep quite for the sake of any vow, I don't believe the second interpretation.

One more point, you claimed that Bhishma was gratified because lord personally rushed to kill him and not because he broke is vow for the sake of his devotee's vow. Alright! So I won't be wrong if I deem that he respected the evil demons (Whom he killed) more than Bhishma and his other devotees. 😆

this is so simple. One bhakta got protection (Arjuna) nd the other's words came true (Bhishma). 100% clear. Bhagavatam details it. Nd I also don't believe in 2nd interpretation. He dint take any second vow, nd no book supports it. 😆

Make a separate post Shruti. 😆

Much needed! 😆
I don't understand what's the cause of disbelief when Bhishma himself recited this event in his stuti, in front of lord Krishna.
Btw your point is accurate, both the devotees received what they needed/desired.

Krishna - Main har kan kan main hoon. Main Surya hoon, aur main hi Chandra ma hoon. Main Surya se Prachin hoon, aur main Vriksh pe khili kali se naya. Ma Swarga aur Nark ko dharan karnewali Shakti hoon. Main Pratyak Manusya mein hoon. Main Duryodhan hoon, aur main Arjun bhi hoon!!
