hi all, i am really hoping i get an answer to the nagging question i have..
Kunti got Karna after invoking Surya and the pandavas after invoking other gods...so Karna has the genes of Kunti and Surya while pandavas have genes of kunti/madri and other Gods but not of Pandu. So technically all of pandavas are stepbrothers right?
also why are pandavas called pandavas if they don't have any Pandu genes in them?

It is not a question of genetics...

The sons of Pandu (YBANS) were conceived after Kunti/Madri were married to Pandu. Hence society recognized them as the sons of Pandu even when they were not...

Legally and socially, it was completely acceptable to have kids by niyoga if fertility or succession issues cropped up...

I mean, if Dhrit, Pandu (& Vidur??) can be "recognized" as the sons of Vichitravirya (when Vyasa was the biological father), I see no reason why paternity should be such an issue with the Pandavas...
