Randomly ran across this 2 part blog post:
http://indiaopines.com/lord-krishna-hero-villain-mahabharat-1/
http://indiaopines.com/lord-krishna-villain-part-2/

While I do respect the author's opinion, I have to admit that it's quite disappointing to come across these types of articles on the internet where there clearly is no research done and everything is based on pure assumptions. Not only is it frustrating to see that Krishna is pointed out as a villain, but the supporting evidence feels like a stretch.

Anyway, it's an interesting read for those interested, but it might spur an interesting discussion so ...

Its just the same thing.
Whenever people want to criticise Krishna they take these standard points and argue. Nothing new. And the author couldn't even get her facts right.
Karna was present at court.
Karna received the Vasavi SHakti and used it on Ghatotkacha.
Yudhishtira did say "Ashwatthama Hatah Kunjarah" but the Kunjarah was drowned by the blowing of conches.
So all in all, getting bored of these points. Can't anyone bring new points to argue?

As I understand it this is my take on Lord Krishna's take on Kuruskethra. If I am right as far as Bhisma goes he himself tells the Pandavas to keep Shikandi in front and fight as he will not fight Shikandi. So Pandavas used this shield with instruction from Bhishma. I guess Yudi and co visit Bhishma on 9th day of battle and ask how they can stop him. Then Bhishma tell is what I remember from Amar Chitra Katha.
Now coming to other Adharma. Kauravas did the first Adharma as 7 people surrounded and killed young Abhimanyu floating all rules of the battle. It was a brutal murder. Actually Krishna took Abhimanyu's death as a license to use Adharma on Kauravas as he was of the opinion that tolerating Adharma was also adharma and existing dharma cannot win against the all blowing adharma. So the message was adharmis cannot be bought down by dharma, you have to follow their path only.
Hence whether against Drona, Karna, Duryodhana everyone Krishna used Adharma. During the killing of Karna , Karna asks Krishna is it right to kill a disarmed warrior who is lifting his chariot's wheels.
To which Krishna replies did you think about dharma when you broke Abhimanyu's bow from behind. I would say that is the most poignant moment in whole MB.
Waiting to watch how they are gonna show in Star MB. Krishna showed you reap what you sow.
Krishna's most actions were against existing societal norms and that is why it is always difficult to walk his path as mostly you will have to walk alone.
Coming to karna's kavach kundal Krishna didnt take them. It was Indra god father of Arjuna who fearing his son's life asked them from Karna. Actually Karna gets a warning about it in night by his own godfather Sun Lord. But Karna since he gives everything asked after morning prayer gives it.
In return for it Indra gives Shakthi which Krishna manages to make Karna use it on Bhim's son.

It is nothing. I was surprised to hear about temple for Duryodhan as deity.

source- Duryodhan wikipedia

At Poruvazhy Peruviruthy Malanada Temple in Kerala's Kollam district, Duryodhana is worshipped as the main deity. It is the only temple in South India, where a Kaurava is considered a God, this is considered injustice by Hindus towards Krishna and his devotees, as Duryodhana was a villain in the great epic.[2]

In Kumaon region of Uttranchal, several beautifully carved temples are dedicated to Duryodhana and he is worshipped as a minor deity. The mountain tribes of Kumaon fought along with Duryodhana armies in the Mahbhrata war; he was venerated as a capable and generous administrator.

This article is laughable as its footing itself is based upon misguided points. I fail to understand that why such ignorant people mention Bhishma's "Immoral" fall with which Krishna was nowhere associated. That was Bhishma's own will...!
Regarding others, their respective ends were related to their own Karma. This is pretty evident in the epic.

the author praised Dury for being a true kshatriya. Maybe lakshagriha, dice hall incidents arent cowardice or backstab bt a true kshatriya act for her. So wat's wrong with the war tricks used in case of Drona, Karna and Dury? 😆
they r nothing compared to what Dury, Karna, Dushi nd Shakuni did.

Not sure what to say about this article most of what is mentioned is correct except karma not being at the court and krsihna ji playing a part in taking away karna's kavach and kundal but most of what Krishna ji did was to win the war for pandavs who had been wronged by kauravs their whole life .Dont see anything wrong in that.

Even if one doesn't view Krishna ji as a god one should appreciate his political and strategic mind. He wanted pandavas to win the war at any cost to get their justice and came up with strategies to ensure that .Yes some strategies did break rules of the war and may seem unfair but who didn't break rules of the war even kauravas did. Krishna ji was intelligent enough to come up with strategies to win the war kauravas weren't so why should he be blamed for that

The only thing that Krishna ji does that raises my eyebrow is his reaction after gatotkacha's death. Yes I agree killing gatotkacha was important to save arjuna but still his reaction after that and the way he explains it to arjuna doesn't go down well with me .I mean gatotkacha really helps pandavs during their exile.I understand Krishna ji really cared about arjuna and wanted him to be saved at any cost but still his reaction after gatatokacha's death shows no remorse. Infact he is happy that now arjuna is saved. Just seems a little harsh. But other than that I understand why Krishna ji does what he does
