Hey folks! So I discovered something interesting about the StarB songs sone days back. Just thought I would share it with everyone. 😊 I guess we all have understood that the songs used in Mahabharata (except the Hindi ones) have original Sanskrit Mahabharat lyrics. But I found something weird in the Arjun BGM. The lyrics have...

"Tatorjunaha... Pritamana babhuva vigatajwaraha..." But strangely, These are NEGATIVE lyrics of Arjun! These words were said after Dronqchaeya asked for Eklavya's thumbs gurudaksgina. It describes how Arjun felt. It means...

" Tatorjunaha" meaning so..Arjuna, "pritamana" prita as in happy, means he was happy and pleased, "babhuva..vigatajwaraha" Became relieved The situation from which the shloka is taken is quite negative as far as Arjun is concerned. StarB just picked up a shloka! Or else these lines could not be put in Arjun BGM.

This was an example, and a very strange one. I wish you all comment your POV here. But please don't criticize StarB again. We have many threads for that. Let's discuss the lyrics in a nice way. 😊

Brishti, could you please do a translation of THAT entire Arjuna shloka?

That shloka also mentions Krishna's friendship with Arjuna ("Krishnashcha sakhyabhaaga..."), so I'm sure it can't be ENTIRELY negative...

Anyway, a translation of THAT shloka would be most welcome 😊

And talking about song lyrics, in Bhim's bg, the word "Sutasoma" appears. As we all know, the name of the son of Bhim & Draupadi is "Sutasoma". Funnily enough, this particular bg of Bhim was played the moment he was born 😆

And what do the lyrics of Yudi's bg really mean?

"Gandibdhari Arjuna..Maheshwasha Dhananjaya... These are names of Arjun we all know. I don't understand from where "Maheshwasha" comes. Never found it mentioned in Mahabharat.
I explained the Tato Arjuna line..
Krishnashcha... (Now very weird again, this means And Krishna..) Sakhyabhaga...Now after an addition of this particular word, the pronunciation may change of the krishnaschya..dat can mean "One who has achieved Krishnas company

Bhavita Arjunaha... This can have many meanings.. Bless Arjuna... Or May depend on usage.

I do think that line is to represent cheerful and pleasant nature of arjuna rather than that particular incident (btw I donot know sanskrit hence I posted according to my understanding of ur post)

ok but then it says "So Arjuna.. and then the rest of it." Pretty strange. I know basic Sanskrit, and I found out about many interesting things about the shlokas by reading some books written in Bengali (unfortunately only people who can read Bangla will know 😭) They are written by Nrisinghaprasad Bhaduri, who is a Mahabharat Scholar, and he knows the MOST about it. 😊

I understood most of it but wanna be sure...btw i like that better than gandivdhaari Arjuna😳😳

Wonder why they never used in in episodes😭

I've come across the word 'Maheshwasa' from a Vishu shlok. It means 'great archer'. It's been used in the Mahabharat too:

Atra sura Maheshwasa Bhima Arjuna Samayudi|
Yuyudhano virata: cha Drupada: cha Maha rathaa

translated to:

Here can we see heroic warriors, powerful archers, as great as Bhima and Arjuna in battle: Yuyudhana and Virata and king Drupada of the great chariot of war

Yes. It basically tells you about the qualities Arjun possessed as an archer. Gunasampan balasampan yashasampan veer mahaveer shirshottam kurusottam.. Gunasampan means one who has gun, or ability, balasampan one who has bal, as in power, Yash, as in fame and glory, veer mahaveer. (I guess you can understand this) shirshottam, shirsha as in d top, the good (Uttam) among the top nd Kurusottam is Arjun's name. 😊

that atrashura mahaeshwasaa sloka is from geeta and the speaker of the shlok is duryodhan, and it was adressed to bheeshma, the meaning of the word maheswasha is wealder of great bow, (maha=great +eeswasa=bow)

haww 😲 Duryodhan! Thanks for telling i did not know dat bhrata..

BTW are u d same person who i play mahabharat game with on twitter? bhrata bheem? 😕 thinking for a long time.. sorry if i am wrong! 😆
