This story is half from the epic and half my wild thoughts..đ.Its all about Arjun's regret after causing the death of Karna..

After the demise of Karna

Arjun found himself in such a delight that he finally completed his Vow of a lifetime.He saw the lifeless figure of his arch rival on the battle ground.He became literally blind with the viictory over Karna . He wanted to to rush back to the camp,to share the joy with his brothers and to celebrate the death of his most dangerous enemy.
"Govind ,lets hurry back..We have to celebrate this victory.Duryodhan has no more weapons in kit. We won the war Govind.."He looked around for krishna.
Arjun didnt notice that Krishna had jumped down from the Chariot already.He was near the dead body of Karna.Arjun saw him bending down as if trying to hear something from Karna.He was totally awestruck by the sight he saw next.Krishna took Karna's dead body in his arms and was walking towards the cremation ground..
Arjun followed him silently .He wanted to know the connection between his best friend and his greatest enemy..Govind is not only a friend for Arjun , he is the one who urged him to kill karna ,when Arjun hesitated for a moment seeing Karna at the wheel of his chariot without any weapons.It was Govind who advised him to send Anjalikastra .The same person is doing the cremation for Karna.Arjun felt something is wrong some where.
"Govind ,why are you doing this?This person was committed to Duryodhan through out his life and let him give the farewell for his best friend."Arjun was unable to hold himself any more.
Krishna looked at him."Arjun, there are lots of secrets in this universe that you dont know.He is one among them.If I tell you that he is your own blood,will you believe me..Karna is the first child of Mata Kunti."Krishna noticed that the colour of joy drained from Arjuns face."He knew that,I told him myself.He did fight with you knowing that you are his brother.He promised Duryodhan that he would kill you and for him Dharm was more important than anything else..You didnt do anything wrong. It was his fate.you cant change that.Now help me to fulfill his last wish..Before taking last breath he told me that since none of his sons are alive in this world,he wanted you,his brother to do the cremation for him..Come with me pay the last respect to your brother,he was the greatest warrior on this earth."
Arjun was struggling to find words to express his feeling..He obeyed Krishna mechanically..His face was pale as if he is dead .."Govind , Why didnt you tell me this before tge war?Mata ,even she didnt bother to tell me anything!!All of you together made me kill my own brother.I cant think about those days I had spent ,planing many ways to take revenge against him,and now that you are telling me that he is my brother." Krishna didnt reply.He remained silent waiting for Arjun to calm down.
"If I had known this before I would have persuaded him to join us.Even if he refused to agree , I would have stopped the war.We all did fight for our pride and Bhrata Yudhishthir 's throne.Now I realize that it doesnt belong to him. Govind, You were with me always as my best friend and greatest mentor and now you made me do the biggest Sin on this earth.When my arrows caused the fall of Pitamah Bheeshm ,I didnt regret.I knew it was my duty that I did.I was sure that he would never curse me for that. But i cant tolerate the pain of killing my own brother for the power on a country which belongs to him.If I had known this before..."without completing the sentence Arjun fell down on his knees..He covered face with his palms. He cried his heart out.
Krishna placed one palm on his shoulder,"Arjun, but you were completely ignorant about the fact and you are innocent.Death of Karna us a necessity of the Kurukshetra war.It was not you who did this.You were merely a tool on the hands of fate.Karna himself begged me not to tell this to you or Yudhishthir.I kept my promise to him.Now come with me we'll go back to the camp.dont let others know the truth.Let them celebrate your success."He urged Arjun to step into the chariot .Arjun's mind was blank on the way back to camp.There was no joy ,no grief..He stood there holding the flagpole of the chariot as if he is an idol of repentence
