It had been quite a few days. Angraaj karna was returning to hastinapur after a political trip with duryodhan dusshasan n gandhaar raj. They had gone on a tour to gather support fr duryodhan in fighting against pandavas & they were not very sucessful. Most of the aaryavrata nw came under yudhisthirs rule n his subordinates were quite happy in his reign. Though karna wholeheartedly supported duryodhan, he could not help being impressed with yudhisthir for handling the huge kingdom so efficiently, without doing adharma, which he himself was not able to do...
As they entered through the main entrance karna saw his father, the charioteer of mahamahim bheeshma, dropping the son of Ganga near the palace. Karna got down from the chariot n ran to his father like a little boy, he hadn't met him since he resumed his thone on jarasandhs insistance. Praneepaath pitashree said karna with folded hands. Adhirath returned the greeting in a very formal way, not in a way a father greets his son after a long time. Aapki yatra kaisi thi ang raaj? Kya aapka sankalp safal hua? The wise n noble bheeshma could sense the disappointment in adhiraths voice. Ang raaj??? Pitashree maine to keval mitrata ki Garima rakhi, aisa kya apraadh kar Diya Jo aap mujhe apne radhey ke Stan par angraaj keh rehe hai. Yeh sambodhan aapka mukh se kaante ki tarah chubhta hai.
Nahi angraaj mera aapko dukh pohunchaane ka koi prayojan nahi tha, mujhe shama karein. adhirath began to leave. Karna stepped forward to stop him but adhirath turned around. Ek binati hai aapse, mai aapko kisise milavana Chatha hoon, kripaya meri prateeksha kijiye. Karna stood there as a rock wen his father went to his house. He din not pay attention as to whom his father wanted to introduce, he was engulfed in disappointment. He knew he was the cause of the sadness of his parents n his wife. He was not a good son or husband. Just as his insides screamed this to him, he heard a melodious cry behind him...
He turned to see his father coming with a bundle of cloth in his hands. Though karna knew what his father was bringing, he still could not believe it. Happiness n grief together engulfed him wen adhirath came close to him n karna saw his son in the blankets. A newborn baby, who shone like the morning son...sleeping peacefully. Yeh mere radhey ka putr hai angraaj, 2 din pehle janma hai, said adhirath. Karna looked at his father n folded his hands, aapna putr maanne se inkaar kar rahe hai aap, ka se kam iska pita kehlaane ke saubhagya se van chit na rakhe pitashree...adhirath could not take it any more. He broke down while giving the sleeping baby to his father. As he went to his fathers arms, the baby woke up.. With huge eyes he stared at the wet eyes of his father, he seemed to have recognized him as he dint cry. Within moments he fell asleep again in his strong arms...
Duryodhan dusshasan shakuni n bheeshma watched at a distance. Bheeshma was engrossed in the love between a father n his son. Duryodhan n dusshasan dint know hw to react, they weren't married yet but if being married n becoming a father would be like this, then they were planning to ask their father to find brides for them soon...shakuni was heartbroken, he dint evn remember wen was the last time he had seen his son. He was away from his motherland, frm his wife, his children. He was reminded of them. He was reminded of his little sister who had the most beautiful eyes in the world n then he was reminded of the injustice to her by the celibate bheeshma. He said thus in his mind, angraaj, parivaar aur santan ka prem sansaar me sarvooch Hota hai. Par mere parivaar to nasth kiya Gaya hastinapur ke singhasan dwara...mere is pratishodh ki Agni me kadachit aapko pariwaar bhi jal jaye, iske liye shama karna mujhe, maharani karna...
