In Srimad Bhagavatam Vyasa has added 'Dev' next to his name. That's why I often write 'Bheeshm Dev'.

Yes 'Dev' means demi-god. Although the wikipedia states that it means 'God'. Bheeshma, he was a demi-god, a mahajana.
