The stated reason was that she is his responsibility as Kunti is his brother's widow. Also, he and Gandhari care for her. The unstated reason we can infer from Mamashri's comments is that they are keeping Kunti in HP to prevent Pandavas from attacking the kingdom in the future.

My Question of the Day: Is Karna a Maryada King of Anga? Or did he miraculously obtain the acknowledgement of 100 kings?

Irrelevant Q: Where is Beta Karn (Bikarn)?

Blue 😆😆😆.. that can very well happen.. Karna Arjun eye lock.. Arjun's eye swings to Kunti and back to Karna.. Karna smiles and nods 'taken care'

may be Karna's part that effect is gone.. from his reluctance i think he is unhappy with Arjun for the adharma of sharing his wife..

Oh God, you guys are hilarious. Waiting to see this happen! 😆

let that be a lesson to everyone! If you care for your brother's widow, you plan to burn her and her sons in a wax house 😆 ... care for my brother's widow my a** ... pandavas should have called him out on it and just taken Kunti with them ... cry baby pandavas (this is the one time in the serial that I'm a bit sad / angry / disappointed that the pandavas (except Bhim) are tearful. Hopefully Bhim tells Dhriti to shut up tomorrow.

Your question: It doesn't matter. Karna is loyal to Duryodhana and Dhriti and Hastinapur... whatever he does is already under Hastinapur's name.

Angapradesh is under Hastinapur and Dhrid expects the same from Kandavaprastha...

Pandavas or Kunti can request that she leaves with her sons.. I dont think Dhrid can reject that but these guys wont do that..

@Shyam - i take it you are angry young man today? Actually both Yuddhi n Bheem were more angry then teary. NakSah were about to start bawling instead of brawling😭 - bechares lost their mom again. Am with you on the bullc*** though - I would have told Dhrit, sorry we don't trust you with her considering nobody has been punished for attempting to kill her. Fix your hp law-n-order and we will trust you with mom.

Yeah I know - Karn was Friendly Das of Dury more than Friend. Still I hate when law is unequally applied *pet peeve*😳

Edit:
@Diala - thanks. Good to hear this 100 king thing was applicable to him as well. 😃

GPB sides with adharma against Pandavas because he is tied to the throne of HP via promises he chose to make. The only difference is that in the original Queen SatyaGreedy made a bakra out of him and in this version King Krazy4Power completed job started by his GreedyGanny. In anycase GPB is a character who oversacrifices to the determinent of dharma - he shortchanges the public, misuses his samarth as regards Amba, and blindly binds himself to the throneholder of HP. The essence is similar... its just that SB he started out strong. But, the dilution was required pre-Vastaharan. They distorted but end result is same. A bevash Bhisma.

I must disagree over here. Yes, Bhishma of the epic was duty-bound to serve the throne, but his authority never overrode the king. One can defend Bhishma's premature and ill-judged vow by saying that he had no idea of the consequences that vow might have in the future. He did not have any reason to anticipate/ or the foresight to consider the possibility of the kingdom being ruled by an adharmi successor. He was also quite young at that time.

In contrast to this, Starbharat's Bhishma has been shown to have sufficient clout and an influence over the king's decisions. He was also perfectly aware that by submitting himself to Dhritarashtra and agreeing to support him unflinchingly he would be forced to accede to Dhrit's demands and give in to his adharma. Besides, he is now an experienced statesman and well versed with politics unlike in the epic when he made the promise. Thus, his promise to Dhrit, makes no sense and is inconsistent with his portrayal so far in the show.

See Starbharat, why we insist on sticking to the original? 😡

Yes. They have made him a bigger bakra. The rationale for this 2nd balidaan is his emotional attempt to protect the Dharmi Pandavas. All the while knowing or being willfully blind to the reelty that Dhrit is on the past of adharam.

But, maybe he has faith that ultimately his sacrifices will be rewarded - that someday Dharma will prevail over all the adharma of Dhri...that he will outlive Dhrit...that Pandavas would be happy albeit at the expense of himself. Still it is undoubtedly an extremely foolish promise for an astute statesman. And I don't know that it absolves him of vastaharan anymore than the actual original epic oath to the throne of HP.

They themselves raised his characterization to the skies and then dropped him to the ground in one brutal move.

Going by the rate at which they are distorting Karna as an unblemished character, I hope I stop watching the show before they come up with some ridiculous justification of why he actively participated in the fiasco after the dice game.
Or they might just end up showing Karna protesting against Drupadi's insult instead of Vikarna. Maybe that's why they have not bothered to cast the latter 😕

I think we should all mentally prepare ourselves for distortions in the dicehall at the rate they are progressing. Maybe it will be shown that Karna was deliberately instigating/baiting the Pandavas so they would act. Urrgh they are overdoing the whitewash and blackwash! Gray is what makes MB great.

Something Positive: I liked the description of Indraprast by Yuddhi n GPB today. It was awesome. A kingdom cursed by Indra full of super poisonous snakes the mayaveer leader of whom is Takshak.
Last few weeks Suryadev has been torn btwn Draupadi n Karna. Now Indra will be torn btwn takshak & curse versus beta Arjuna.
